Can we have a separate ranting section like blather and babble
« on: 30 September 2010, 12:13:45 pm »
Surely if we have a section that people can ignore if they like, but equally allows those who need to get things off their chest it would be a good idea?

Then if we have any topics that look like they are going to cause outrage, (and that are not asking a serious but controversial subject), the mods could move it there.

Hopefully then we could get posters to post questions properly, light hearted banter in blather and babble as intended.

Any thoughts?

I think Psychosis, Neurosis, and Deluded Corner has a nice ring to it.

That is a good suggestion as it would be lovely to keep the Q&A bit clear of any unnecessary negativity and the blather as light hearted jolly stuff. SAAFE used to be a warm place to come and I think its really important it keeps that feel - it was that warm atmosphere which contributed to SAAFE winning the industry award earlier on this year.

I'm not sure there is enough drama and outrage to justify a new section and of course its up to Amy, Anika & Emily as to whether they feel it will increase or lessen their workload. They have enough to do so the best option, in my opinion, would be for  some posters to take the advice which has been dished out by the three ladies of late and either ignore, or report to mod, any post they feel is suspect.

Thanks for the suggestion. :)

He he - not enough drama and outrage.  We are escorts!  Sometimes bitchy ones too.

I do agree the mods have enough to do, but surely setting up a new folder thinging is not too cumbersome. Hopefully ladies (and Joey etc) will respect the board enough to post to it instead of the information sections. Thus removing MOST of the need to have posts moved there.

LOL Oh yes, forgot where I was for a minute.  :)

It makes sense, but like I say up to the current ladies as I am going back off to sleep under my warm and fluffy duvet.

Absolutely fab idea, methinks I might be back more often again.

Have missed the chat on here, but whendealing with my own problems and demons some of the post on here were just not good for my health, now all I need to do is ignore the relevant section.

Ok, for some reason I missed this sticky...thankyou Pandora!

I dont see what the hate is about, I mean hell...freedom of speech? Does that not exist but in America?

I see no hate Joey. Freedom of speech doesn't just work for one side of any argument and nor does it exist in isolation (or "only in America" for that matter but lets not go there eh!! ;D)

People are entitled to their opinions but if they want to post them on SAAFE, they have to post within the guidelines and ethos of the site.

There is now a ranting section and so if members want to rant they can, and if members dont want to read rants, they are now easy to avoid. Simples.
