It is actually not that easy for people to find out who is behind nominee companies, not even HMRC, as they can often be part of a network of companies including offshore foundations, set in many jurisdiction. HMRC has not the power in some parts of the world and even America's Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has no power to investigate in certain areas. Due to 911 things have tightened up a lot and even Switzerland has started to cooperate with other tax authorities.
Also if you take the company to court in the UK I am unsure how you would process that court order in a foreign country. The cost of this could run into several thousands of pounds as many of the shell companies that own the offshore company you are suing will be registered in various parts of the world to make identification hard
But the bottom line is, if you take a company to court and you win, even in this country, if the company is no longer in existence, you get nothing...
Adultwork web sites are now registered to a new company andf regardless of if the same people are behind it you can not take action against them.
I feel sorry for the lady involved and wonder on what advice she went to the High Court, unless she has been paid.
They do not say if Aw defended the action, but I assume that as they have not said they did not, especially if the company has now been wound up with no assets.
UPDATE....
