Hi all,

I hate the adultwork sex shop. I cam and often have guys sending me gifts. But I end up selling them on ebay because they are poor quality.  Most personal sellers on AW don't allow purchases through the wishlist option.  Which is a shame, but I guess they must of had a lot of hassle with recipients not updating their address details and having things sent back.  There were one or two personal sellers that allowed me to add things from their shop to my wishlist, but when my client clicked on the link to purchase one of these items for me, it wouldn't let him. I forget why.  Gutted!

I set up a wishlist through amazon using my work alias, and when I tried to buy something for the wishlist using my personal account, it wouldn't let me send anything without obtaining an address.  Even though they were only products sold by Amazon themselves and not a third party.

It's really annoying.  I'm obviously not comfortable with clients knowing my real address.

Is there a way to receive gifts without them knowing where I live, on amazon or any other website?

Set up a PO box.

If you can tie your own shoes and spell your own name, you can find out who a PO box belongs to. There are various mail handling/forwarding service available that are probably more secure, but they tend to be expensive.

Amazon only supply an address if items on your list are from third party sellers, so if you stick to things sold directly by Amazon it stays hidden. Or you could just get people to buy the thing and bring it with them when they book?

I don't know the rules about giving people AW credits, but Amazon gift vouchers are anonymous and can't be charged back so you can buy things off your wishlist yourself?

^^ That's an even better idea.

You can give AW credits as a gift/tip but AW still get their cut of course. Amazon vouchers are a way better idea.

Yep. It depends on whether you want 'stuff' or 'money to buy stuff'. Amazon vouchers are certainly the way to go for the latter.

If you can tie your own shoes and spell your own name, you can find out who a PO box belongs to. There are various mail handling/forwarding service available that are probably more secure, but they tend to be expensive.

Even PO Boxes aren't cheap...

I saw this on another thread, which is why I set one up. Are you sure Amy? When I logged into my personal amazon account (to check this out for myself) and searched for the wish list I'd set up under a work account, I added the things to my basket (items sold from Amazon only) and when I went to 'pretend' check out, I was dismayed to see that the only option I had was to get them delivered to myself or an alternative address that you had to type in.  So the client will just have to ask for my address?  It didn't indicate that the items would be automatically sent to the wishlist-ee. The only option I or the client would have is to get the items delivered to myself or to type in the address of the wishlist-ee.

God I'm going crossed eyed lol.  Sorry If i'm making a shit job of explaining it!

And no, I don't want AW credits.  Aw take a third and then I end up paying 20 percent tax on that  :-\ But hey, ho.

Gift vouchers are a good idea.  This is by email yes?  You only have to provide an email address don't you?  And then how do you go about redeeming it, how does it work?

I don't have cam clients come to my house.  I have to separate profile for camming and escorting for personal reasons.  So they wouldn't be able to bring gifts to bookings.

Thanks guys xx

The giver needs an email address for you. Amazon then email you a string of letters and digits which you can either enter in a 'redeem a gift certificate' bit of your Amazon account or click a link and have it done for you.

The credit then gets used first whenever you buy something from Amazon (from them or a third party).

The gift certificate is completely anonymous from their perspective - if they don't add a note, you won't know who it is from.

Fantastic.  Silly question, but can I redeem the voucher under my real account even though I'm going to give him my work email?

Well it certainly used to be true, but the only way to find out if something's changed is to ask Amazon, or at least have a look through their Q&As. I had a wishlist up briefly but wasn't comfortable with the idea and took it down, and I tried doing the same thing from another account - it worked fine then.

I'd stick with vouchers, personally.

Think it has to be the registered email address. But even if it does... start an amazon account on your work email for the vouchers!

I think the OP has already, which is how she was able to testdrive the wishlist thing from another one :).

Yes.

One time, someone who didn't trust that it really is anonymous sent one to themselves, then just emailed me the string of letters and digits that's the real valuable bit. Redeeming that for my account was no problem.
