Robbed at Knife Point, Oxford [hotel]
« on: 02 February 2019, 12:00:26 am »
I’m absolutely beside my self writing this, I had the single most terrifying experience last night and I’m partially to blame for ignoring my steadfast incall rules.

Young sounding London / “wide boy” type accent male has called on a number of occasions to make a booking from 074051501** but always at the end of the evening.

When I told him I’m working from a hotel he’s refused the booking as he knows the reception staff, stupidly last night I relented and offered him access via a fire door.

When he arrived at my door a second male barged the door, locked the door and both brandishing knives they tore the room apart for my money, taking everything I had, not much as I bank regularly.

They were both of lighter skinned mix race ethnicity, over 5’9 wearing caps and snoods and tracksuits. They were not violent towards me, only the obvious knife threat and left after 20 min when they realised there was no more money.

Police are dealing with it and they might be linked to an earlier almost identical occurrence in Oxford in the past month. I’ve worked for 4 yeats with no issue and this has blown me out of the water, I just can’t stop crying or thinking about how much worse it could have been.

Please be careful Oxford based workers or any ladies planning an Oxford tour.

I'm so sorry to hear this - you must be in a state. Can I ask: how did they get in the fire door? Is it left open or did you have to prop it for them?

Hi DaisyDuck,

The fire door is generally unlocked and unalarmed but on this occasion and at his request I had to go and physically open it and leave it resting open. Absolutely not something I would normally do and in hindsight a completely ridiculous thing to have done.

Also I think it’s worth a mention that the Police were UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING in the handling of this, I have never had to report anything like this in my time of working and I will admit I had my reservations and worries in reporting it for fear of vindication from the police but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

From the responding officers on the night who discreetly got the hotel to change me to a new room  to the detective who came to the room the next day with coffee and let me sit wrapped up in bed in my PJ’s crying while she took and official statement to the CSI man who walked me around the room taking fingerprints, they all were absolutely amazing, respectful and genuinely angry for me at what had happened.

If anything like this happens to anyone of you, as much as you might doubt doing it you need to report it. The police are 100% on your side and just want cretin like these off the street and not posing a risk.

I don’t know how this is progressing yet but I do feel proud in hindsight to have reported it and hopefully save someone else the experience I had xxx

Update on this anybody working this area it was on the news police know who these robbers are they found them one is in custody and the other one is on the run. His name has been put out all over the news in the manhunt with a picture of him ( i know names are usually restricted but as police put his details out i can add name and people can google to see his face if allowed others might recognize he has robbed them also)

He has a string of crimes to his name for robberies, kidnappings and assault. So far 3 women have reported robberies in Oxford to police that he has done.
