Persistant Caller/Stalker Tom W***** from Darlington
« on: 08 January 2009, 03:58:20 pm »
The first week of Decemeber I received a call from a guy calling himself Tom said he was from Darlington and was looking for an Out Call, we chatted for a while and agreed a date and I asked him to call me on the day to confirm. He then called me back within 10 minutes 'to have a chat' this went on and on, my own fault I shouldnt have kept answering. Despite constantly asking him not to ring, he would keep on and on, if I didn't answer he would leave voicemails, 18 in one afternoon!

So I started accepting the call but not speaking and then cutting him off, but to no avail he still kept on and on, finally I told him that if he called again I would ring the police and report him for harassment, and he had given me his landling number and home address they would come around and visit him.

That seemed to do the trick and I haven't had a call for a couple of weeks, I thought I had got rid of him.................... but it must have been my unlucky day yesterday because he reared his ugly head again.

I was out to lunch with a girlfriend so had my phone on silent for a couple of hours, when I out it back on there were a couple of missed calls, he has changed his number so I didn't realise it was him calling so I answered and he didn't speak.

I then played back my 5 messages they were all from him, 4 times saying hello it's Tom and the 5th time saying he was Steven!!!

So when he rang again I told him the same as last time I spoke to him, if he calls again I will call the police etc, unfortunately it doesn't seem to have worked as well as last time and I am still getting calls, although I have managed to intercept most of them, thus not allowing him to leave a message or to listen to my voice on the voice mail - I have been advised to not to speak to him or let him here my voice at all, hence that's why I am intercepting the calls so he doesn't get off on hearing my voice on the voice mail - also I am dead tight and it t's me off that I am paying to accessing my voice mail just to hear a load of cr*p from him.

This is his new number Ladies - 078276231**.
This is his old number 075970346**

If you would like any further details or information please email me or PM me

Amelia, report him to the police. Seriously! You can't keep living like this. Even if you were to change your number, given his obsessive personality, he'd find it and call you on that one too. This is harrassment and it's something the police take seriously, whatever your profession.

Police, police, police. I've had this twat too and recognised the story straight away - he sounded really nice when he first rang. I agree you can't live like this - they take this stuff very seriously and will help you. It's illegal to harass people like this - prossie or no prossie, the key legal words are 'intent to cause alarm and distress', even if it didn't really affect you much; if someone is causing this, get the f*cker nailed (and on my behalf too. Prick).

Thanks Brandy and Amy, it's getting to the point now where I may have to.

He has 2 other numbers -0777 224 32** and 07827 6231**.

I have had to take my voice mail off, as if I miss his call he leaves loads of messages and also he can hear my voice and have been advised that he is probably getting off on it. A right pain as I am probably missing clients if they can't leave a message.

Have tried having male friends answer and tell him not to ring and also blasting him with my rape alarm but to no avail.

It has calmed down a bit, only 4 calls yesterday and so far 3 today.

I am away with the day job next week so the phone will be off all week, I am hoping that when he rings and gets the 'unable to connect you message' then he will think I have changed my number.

Failing that if it continues when I get back then I will need to go to the police.

Hi Amelia,

Can you change your number? I had one of these nut jobs and just threw out the SIM card and got a new one (ASDA are very cheap)

Alternatively you can get mobiles that will block certain numbers. My Samsung I-style phone has this facility which is invaluable.

You shouldn't have to put up with his nonsense, lose the nutter!

Oh and report to the police as well, you'll be doing us all a favour

Best of luck
Lilly xxx

Hi Lily

I am loathed to change my number but a phone that could block his numbers is a good idea, I will have  a search for the Samsung, ty x

surely changing the number wont help.  If he found her website etc before he will just go there again to get her new number.

I hope you went to the police about this one, he clearly just does the rounds to annoy WGs.
