guy rings and says hes from channel 5
« on: 28 January 2007, 08:02:18 pm »
Hi Ladies

I havent posted this under my regular working name, but my old one, which is the name the guy used when he called me. I dont want him to see this post and know my new name. - I am still listed as Heather on one site, but its email contact only, and if anyone from there contacts me, I give them my new number, so it sort of rules that one out.

He called today and asked if I was available. I told him to call back without witholding his number and I would discuss it with him. Very well spoken, cut glass english accent.
Half an hour later, he called back, witheld number, same man, same voice, and tells me his name is Brian something-or-other and he is from channel 5. Apparantly I went on an outcall and met a guy last week, a journalist, posing as a client. Now I am to feature on a channel 5 program called 'undercover'

I called his bluff and asked him why he was informing me by telephone as it isnt legal, he must inform me in writing, surely he knew that? He hung up.

I'm not too worried that this guy may be genuine. He called on my old work number, and used my old name, as I said. I havent worked under Heather with that old number for 18 months and definitely didnt do an outcall last week.

If this had happened when I first started working, it would have scared the hell out of me and put me off working again. Maybe this is what he wants? I dont know

Not really. I would rather as many ladies as possible know about this sort of scam, than a few core members. Open forums like these are very useful to pass around information such as the above.
If in any doubt, ladies are welcome to post anon. and ask for any advice. The object of this forum is for escorts to garner any advice given on here that they mind find useful themselves. This topic itself has had 150 views so far. How many do you think it would've had in a closed forum?

No, I don't think I did. You basically said that this particular warning should've been written behind closed doors so to speak. I disagreed with you. I don't remember you saying anything about the pros and cons of an open forum.
This particular thread is on a warnings forum. What's the point of warnings such as these if only a handful of people can see them? They're of little use then. The idea myself and Sarah Jane had of setting up a warnings forum is for public use, so as many escorts can see them as possible. I reckon that's the idea behind the reasons other forums do the same.
Forewarned is forearmed. If another lady experiences something such as this, I'd rather her know about this and be prepared, because she read it here. Or even better, this is fed back to those forums with RSS feeds, so as many escorts can read it as possible.
Sure, some things should remain in closed forums. But not warnings. And certainly not warnings of this kind of importance.

Agreed. Newbies are most vulnerable to being scammed and least likely to have access to a closed forum.

There are some genuine journalists and reported, producers etc etc, who use well known adult service sites to resaearch for productions, I have been contacted a few times by people claiming to be from media related industries, the majority im safe in saying are fake, cant really understand why they do it, I mean wouldnt im a multi millionaire, jettsetting entreprenuer be a better make believe alias??

But my only advice is using well known sites to promote your self, if you want to remain anonymous is risky, even editing photos to try hide your identity will only disguise your from so many people, I mean someone will evenyually make a connection, eg. location and familiarity of your looks or figure.

Invest in your own website which tends to only make you available to people looking for your services.

When you first consider becoming involved in providing adult services you have to assess how you will feel when your close ones find out, its inevitable, many newbies are nieve to the fact, but even if your close friends and relatives never approach you on the subject, there is a high possibility that someone who knows you, knows!

The fact of this thread still takes nothing away from the fact that publishing your photos and or records you without permission is illegal.
