Scam agency using Adultwork's name
« on: 03 January 2015, 03:27:26 pm »
I have a profile on AW for over a year now and got scammed of ?1120 by this guy claiming to be from Elite Escort Agency. Got a text from 'Adultwork' offering an overnight booking with a regular client for ?1600 and I responded. Then this guy with a British accent rang me and explained to me the details and I agreed to do the booking. He said AW takes 10% and the agency will take 20%. He said I could send the cash or collect (if client pays by credit card) to his office at 320 Regent St. London.  'Adultwork' sent another text to confirm the booking with location to meet client, 259 Upper St. He said client will meet at the bar first for drinks at 10pm. Around 10.05pm he texted saying client is just getting cash out and on his way to meet me. 10 mins later he said meeting point has changed and he told me to walk all the way to the other side of Highbury & Islington to meet client. Then he said client couldn't get cash out so he had to pay by credit card and I can collect my share the day after. I was reluctant by then and wanted to leave. Then 'Adultwork' sent another text to confirm payment with authorisation code and last 4 digits of card. I told him I was leaving as this was all to disorganised and dodgy. He said not to leave as client had paid. Met client on the f-ing street and I just completely lost my mood as he was the type of client I do not see but I did the booking anyway. Next day I called the agency guy and he said I can go to his office to pick up the cash or he can transfer to my account. Sent him my bank details and the money never came. He avoided my calls and even blocked my number cause when I tried calling from a withheld number I got through. He answered and when I said who I was he hung up on me.

I am terribly upset by this and how the hell is this possible through AW??? Is there any way we can bust this guy??! I have his number that he called me from. Please help or advice!

It certainly wasn't done via AW - someone's used some software to make the text appear to come from 'adultwork' or whatever it said. Depending on the voices, you've either been dealing with just one guy as client, 'agency', and 'adultwork' or two - if it's the latter, they probably swap who is going to get the free sex each time.

As with everyone else who's been scammed into doing a freebie, he has committed an offence but you're never going to see the money and you will need more than just you to get the police interested. But I bet you're not the only one this has happened to, because there's no way something this elaborate is a one-off.

Don't delete the texts, post the number here (with the last two digits replaced by *s, of course), and report it to Uglymugs and the London sex work projects.

Did you ever go to the 'office'? I bet it's an accommodation address.

I never went to the "office" but checked in on Google and looks like it's a travel agency. Adultwork should be made aware of this, if they could even care less that people are scamming using their name! I will report to Praed St. Project, they know me there and I go there for my tests. The arsehole's number is 079339505**.

The "client" I met was a black guy and he took me to this flat that looked like an ex council estate building. He said he was in London for a few days on business, property. I don't think he was the guy on the phone though. Flat was stuffy and he had a smell I didn't like. Gross. We only had sex once as I didn't have enough condoms. ?1600 off one girl!!! Horrible people!

Ladies, PLEASE be vigilent and wary!

Pretty sure I've had texts from the same people several times in the past few months. They're definitely trying their luck en masse.
Luckily I don't delete texts too often, and still have one from November.

Sender: adultwork
Body: ?1200 Outcall Overnight, agency booking available for you! 10pm in W1. 100% payment guaranteed! This is a group SMS so if interested, txt adultwrk ID: 077707262**

The ones I received before were identical, not a clue if the number included was the same though.

Unbelievable!! This twat from "Elite" had the nerve to call me again asking me who I was. Had a go at him that he hadn't paid me and and he started some bollocks that they always pay girls and it must have gone to my account etc. I said I have brought this case out and informed people in this industry about his scam. After going back and forth he asked if he gave me the money now, will I  be able to work tonight??!! I said give me my money first. Then he had the cheek to accuse me of lying about not being paid! The voice was definitely the guy who was my "client". He just called me again asking me to work tonight and how soon can I work again!! He's harrassing me now. I'm so mad!

He is the 'agency' and there is no money.

Get in touch with Jenna_Zee and think about going to the police together about this.

I have reported this incident to Praed Street project and they helped me report it to Ugly Mugs online. There is an option to talk to the police with the ladies at Praed Street project anonymously. Let me know if you want to do this. The lady whom I consulted with said this is actually a case of robbery.

Thank you for reporting it there.

They are committing a crime, but it's one of the fraud ones, not robbery.
