Euro scammer
« on: 08 July 2009, 12:39:22 pm »
I live on the way to Dover and I had a guy ring me for a booking on Saturday saying he was on his way from London to Dover for the ferry.

About an hour before the meeting he rang to say he had changed all his money to Euros and would I accept them.  I agreed but made up an extortionate exchange rate thinking him a time waster.  Euro 220 for ?150 incall.

8pm came and went and no sign.  I didn't bother to ring as I was sure he was a TW. Then at 8.10 he turns up.  Tall, black guy around 35.  He says he only has 50 euro notes so will give me 250 as I have been so kind.

He said he was off on a booze cruise and had a ferry to catch so he only stayed 20 mins.  He also said that he might visit again on the way back and if I wanted, would change the notes back to sterling.

The notes looked very real, but having taken them to the post office - they are fake.  I may now be a seasoned escort but it goes to show you can get scammed at any time.  AGGGGGGHHHHHHH>

His number is 07792**7565

Or if you want to take the chance and check your notes at home?
You could check them whilst using your sunbed, (using the UV-light) that way you?re getting a tan checking your cash all at the same time. 8)

I use one of these. They are a little quicker and more discreet than felt tip pens too, although I have one of those as well. Not one for tanning, me ;D.

Well, all I can say is thank God Pandora put this up. This may be a coincidence but the similarities were too hard to ignore, so I'm going to put this up.

I received a call this morning wanting an incall at my flat for 5pm today. Black guy, sounds lovely, well-spoken, etc.
After the initial booking he did begin to get on my nerves a bit because he called a couple of times making sure of the services I offered (just like Pandora's guy).  He also said that whilst he would pay me for the full hour, he wouldn't be able to stay for the duration as he had to fly out this evening. Although he did try to change the time later on and wanted to see me at 10pm this evening as he "didn't have to fly out until tomorrow now". I declined as I don't work that late. So we stuck to 5pm.

It wasn't until the 3rd phone call he mentioned  the euros. He asked if I would accept them and that he would pay me 200euros, which is nearly ?180. I only charge ?140 for an hour so I wondered why he would charge over the odds and not stay for the full hour.

Initially I said okay, that's fine. I work in the city so it would've been no problem going to a bureau de change afterwards to change it up. I've done it a couple of times before.

But then the wheels started turning. I thought, this sounds familiar. So I came on here and looked for Pandora's warning and the similarities were striking. The thing that made me hesitate was the different phone number. I dropped Pandora an email and she was kind enough to respond almost immediately. But in the meantime I text "Michael" (that's the name he gave me) back and asked if I could be paid in sterling. He said no problem, he'll change it before he gets to the booking.

Meanwhile he was having trouble with somebody not turning up for a meeting and was iffy about the meeting going ahead at 5. He said if this booking fell through, could he reschedule for tomorrow morning. I did say yes, but those alarm bells were stilll ringing in the distant.

Funnily enough, about 15mins after I text him to ask to be paid in sterling, he text back cancelling, citing meetings running over time. By then Pandora had written back and more or less confirmed my suspicions. He would like to reschedule for tomorrow, but obviously that ain't happening.

Ironically, he described himself in a text to me, so even though I haven't met him, I can pretty much describe what he looks like:

He's 6ft 6", built like a rugby player and weighs about 19st. Goes by the name of "Michael". The number he called me on was: 07540 369 1**

Shame now, because after that I won't be accepting euros now.
