I've been a freelance web designer / developer for around 8 years now and have worked on everything from simple static websites right up to large, high traffic online communities and everything in between. Almost all of the websites I deliver are based on Wordpress, meaning it's very easy for you to manage the content yourself without having to pay for any technical assistance. Unless you have special requirements or expect huge amounts of traffic, I also include lifetime hosting of the website after delivery, meaning no running costs whatsoever. So, you only pay for the initial cost.
