I think there's a section in which you can write about any experience, or just be prepared to accept disabled clients.

Hi all

Just another reminder that there is a charity that runs a page aimed at disabled clients at https://tlc-trust.org.uk/

We do screen providers due to the vulnerability of some of the clients though this information is kept totally confidential.

I'm going to set up a thread [now in Q&A] where some of the existing providers might like to chat and anyone interested in joining might ask questions.

We also have a members area so that we can verify that (some) of the people who find you through the page are genuine clients.

Thanks, M

If people want to ask questions about advertising on the site, they can ask them here :).

I used to be on the old TLC website not sure why you care about seeing peoples IDs really...

We advertise that we have screened our providers to make it safer for disabled people, many of whom are more vulnerable - it's a deterrent to predators as they would not be willing to show us their ID.

If you think about it, you have to be police checked to work as a carer for people so an ID check is nothing really.

What a strange situation. Surely anybody disabled could either hire an escort themselves or there carer. That is what usually happens when i have seen somebody with a disabilty. But saying that i would only take a booking direct from the client not his help as i have had them contact me before but that is not the set up for me with discretion.

The TLC site has been running for about 30 years. Many providers don't want to see disabled people and many disabled people don't like having to ask that as the first question and get turned down repeatedly.

It is part of a bigger charity run for and by disabled people and they felt it was something they could benefit them.

Are you happy to give us your ID?

My ID is logged within the system yes. But why should you need to see it?

We need to offer some reassurance to clients but mainly parents/carers/social workers etc that some screening has taken place. Some of these clients are immensely vulnerable  and the charity has heard numerous stories of clients being abused in a variety of ways. Asking for ID puts the predators off.

Hi Marianne,
I cant see disabled people myself but as you are a charity that does not charge escorts to advertise not some company out to make money I do give them the link for your website and i also post a link to TLC on my website. (btw is it the same domain or dio i need to edit the link) I think it's a great idea and saves them having to go through loads of knockbacks until they get a yes. It will also help the people who are scared to contact a provider in case their disability puts them off x

Thank you loads for your support and understanding attitude!

I agree with this, it can't be a bad idea. Besides AW asks for IDs in the most humiliating manner, at least these guys are well intended.

Thanks - they do so to cover their arses re legalilty. We do it to put of predators and ensure people's safety.

The problem is, women (us) are in a far more vulnerable position,
e.g. risks of all social and moral punishments from all directions ,
"once bitten..." applies.
Some women have chronic illnesses/hidden disabilities, too.

It's really sad to see a site like this demands ID.

We don't even know who these punters are, would they be verified, too?
 ???

There is an option for client membership with ID and proof of disability - the idea being that you, the provider can make it a requirement that a prospective client join before they can book you so yes - we are trying to make this two sided.

We do prefer it yes as it's a whole different skill set. Can you suck dick round a cathater? - Can you cope with disfigurement? Incontinence? Do you have any experience of using a wheelchair or a hoist? What if your client needs the toilet during a booking and their carer isnt' there - can you hoist them from the bed, into a chair, get them to the toilet and back again? Even dressing and undressing people with muscle spacicity can be really hard work.

The diversity of disabilities means that if you have little to no understanding of the complexity of the possible needs then not really. I mean, you can't get a job as a carer without training and although we are not there as carers, in some situations, care jobs occur whether you planned them to or not.
