Title: Photographer available in Manchester
Post by: mancphoto on 15 January 2018, 03:01:26 pm
I'm a Manchester-based photographer hoping to establish myself and eventually turn this hobby into something more. I have worked in boudoir, glamour and fetish settings and am comfortable and familiar with the scene.

While building up my portfolio I'm offering a free first shoot. This will usually last a hour or two and can be done in a setting of your choice (at your expense if we opt for a studio or need to rent a location) and you can expect to end up with at least 10-15 high-quality unwatermarked images that you will be free to use in your ads, social media, on your websites or privately. Shoots are very collaborative by nature and the best results come from listening to each others' feedback and ideas and simply trying things out.

I will keep some of the final images for my own portfolio, but as per some of the images linked from this ad, can anonymise them when I use them publicly. Like I say, I'm looking to establish myself and build up working relationships; I'm not the type of person to overstep the bounds or let anything confidential slip.

I own professional gear, lighting and editing facilities. All delivered photos will be processed and retouched (if required) to the highest standard by me.

[removed]

Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss setting something up or would like more examples of my work. I don't want to link to it in the open because it links back to my real identity; something I'm not quite ready for just yet.

I can provide independently-contactable and references and am happy to chat or meet up before going ahead with a shoot. Thank you for reading!

I've removed the links because we have no way of knowing who are or whether these pictures are anything to do with you, plus the people in at least some of them are recognisable and we have no idea whether they're happy for their images to be posted here. We know that you have every right to post pictures you have taken anywhere you like whether the subject likes it or not (which is why many of us take our own).

How do you propose we get in touch with you when you haven't supplied any contact details with which to do so? Semaphore? If you're a legitimate photographer, why are you trying to conceal your working name when most of those advertising here want theirs shouting from the rooftops? Do you think we're unsavoury in some way, and if so, why?

When you say 'the scene', what are you talking about? I'm not involved in any 'scene' that I know of, at least.

Yep just a punter with a camera and he says to use the photos for his portfolio which means he could be showing anybody our images so no discretion. Free shoots can come with discretion problems i would rather pay to use a proper business.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I'll try to clear a few things up from my first post.

When you say 'the scene', what are you talking about? I'm not involved in any 'scene' that I know of, at least.

I was referring to the last item in my list and the thing immediately preceding my mentioning of the term; Fetish. The Scene is a commonly-used term [removed - do not post live links on the forum].

I perhaps wrongly assumed that this forum supported private messages. If it doesn't, granted, I didn't leave a sensible method of contact. My bad.

Hopefully I can rectify that and your following questions by linking to my newly-set-up Instagram account instead. I went with the name Uninhibited Photography (https://www.instagram.com/uninhibited.photography/). I don't know how happy I am with the name yet so it might change if I can come up with something better, but there it is.

I have posted (and will continue to post) a selection of recent shots (all taken from 2016-2018) and you'll notice that in the identifiable shots I have tagged the subject. They are all established professional dominatrices from the north west; the shots have all been used either on their websites on in their social media.

All other images are, as discussed and promised beforehand, anonymised. Yes, I have the full-resolution private images saved on my machine. Yes, I could post them. But I won't, I agreed I wouldn't and they are safely and securely stored.

The reason for me not wanting to have my name associated with this side of my photography is that in my day job I run a software company. Googling my name leads to my professional profile and my nature photography. I don't mind colleagues/clients/recruiters seeing my pictures of birds and bees, but I'd rather keep a line between my normal life and anything racy.

Doesn't it just. Somebody got a DSLR off Santa ::).

Not too far from the truth, actually; I got my first DSLR for Christmas in 2010. I mainly shoot nature and macro and will happily link to my regular instagram somewhere other than this thread.

Well to be fair... ...he also has a laptop :D

And a calibrated IPS monitor, and Capture One Pro, and Photoshop.

Sounds like a punter with a camera.

Unfortunately I've never been to see an escort. There's always time. I have had a massage with a happy ending though, dunno if that counts.

I was referring to the last item in my list and the thing immediately preceding my mentioning of the term; Fetish. The Scene is a commonly-used term in the BDSM community [removed - do not post live links on the forum].

Well since this isn't a BDSM forum, I'm not sure why you would expect us all to know that. SAAFE is a sex work resource for people working in prostitution and whilst some of those people offer BDSM services, it's a completely different area and while some people will be involved with both, most won't.

I perhaps wrongly assumed that this forum supported private messages. If it doesn't, granted, I didn't leave a sensible method of contact. My bad.

It does, but advertisers don't have access to it. Had you read the advertising rules (carefully hidden at the top of this board and titled 'Okay, here are the rules') you would have known this already.

Unfortunately I've never been to see an escort. There's always time. I have had a massage with a happy ending though, dunno if that counts.

There's no difference at all apart from the specific services offered. Somebody wanking off blokes for money is as much a prostitute as I am (and just as subject to brothel, pimping laws and so on), and their customer is no less a punter.

If you have been wanked off and paid for that service then yes you are a punter. Most beauty places or hotel spas etc do not offer wanking services.

My two cents:

You want to be a photographer in the sex work industry but will not say who you are?  Well don't expect any SW to book you, you are just a random post on a site.  How can we check you out that you are legitimate?  You could be a murder/rapist/kidnapper/weirdo that wants to get a SW alone in a strange address with malicious intentions.

You have no studio, no site of your own.

All photographers I have used are googable.  I wouldn't put myself in a vulnerable position where I am nearly naked/dressed for sax work with some random which could end up anywhere and fuck my life up.  Being someone with no name, you could easily be some agency boss which is after new pictures for bait and switch or even use images for blackmail.

Yes all above far fetched but very real scenarios.

A serious photographer would have a website and phone number to contact on and a business address. Without that it is not serious and a big risk.

Thank you Meme10, it was a pleasure meeting and working with you.

If anyone is interested I've set up an Instagram account at https://instagram.com/uninhibited.photography and can be emailed at uninhibited.photography@outlook.com

Once we've discussed requirements on ig or via email, I'll share my name and number so you can research me or call before going any further.

I'm aware this is a bit of an outdated thread, but just wanted to say that I did a shoot with this photographer a few weeks ago- he was incredibly professional and sent the beautifully edited pics over within a week. If anyone's looking for a photographer in or around Manchester (where he's based- I'm in Leeds and he was happy to travel in exchange for petrol money) I'd definitely recommend!  ;D

Thank you I am interested however without a website and unable to use IG in a sex work capacity, I'm a little hesitant. I've viewed the Twitter account but can't seem to find examples of work nor rates or any other info.
