I've emailed them. What a nightmare!  :'(

I actually got the app onto a device, now worried I've finally succumb to a phishing scam.

Has anyone else got an email from Vivastreet asking them to verify their account through an app called Yoti? Or is it a scam?
Please see Vivastreet thread below (spamming in the lion's den) - I've just made a post about this.

Merged, since VS can't reply on the Q&A board :).

I've just tried to verify but it isn't compatible with my devices either.

No, nor mine, although why they think they need to 'age verify' a forty five year old woman is anybody's guess. I guess I'll just have to stop paying them until they pull their finger out.

Vivastreet do some annoying things, but compared to adultwork, they're much friendlier.

So are the Taliban.

To be honest, I'd rather they just stopped fucking up all the time - whether or not they're nice about it doesn't excuse the constant bollock-dropping when their ads are about the most expensive I can think of for virtually everybody here. If they tried to do things properly then they wouldn't need the constant platitudes in the first place.

You don't have to verify on Viva Shit
I've placed my adds with no problem

If you just go straight to your adds you don't need to verify

You didn't in the past, but now they're saying you have to in the future.

Also interesting that the email about this was sent late on a Friday shortly before their helplines close for the weekend.

Reminds me of tax & other 'authority' letters which seem to be timed to arrive on a Friday or Saturday.

Hmmm.

For the people who have verified did you get a confirmation email from either VS or Yoti?

I don't think it'll take off, tried it because sod's law is I'll need it when I'm busy and don't have time.

No need to panic I'll bet they are just trying to persuade more to do it, like they tried with photo verification. The App was fairly intrusive it reads your information from passport, driving licence or a document I can't remember, then it wants a face photo plus video of you saying some words. It then sends DOB to VS although I've nothing to confirm VS have received this, nothing to say I'm verified - despite following the onscreen VS procedure.

My advice sit tight, ignore.

Perhaps VS might get back to us when they've enjoyed their weekend, whilst others waste theirs following their dead end instructions.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for the feedback. The email was sent late Friday and I agree this should have been sent earlier to allow follow up by phone if needed but do not forget we have email service running throughout the weekend.  The age verification is not currently mandatory which is why we thought it would be a good idea to introduce everyone to it now, it's purpose is to validate that you are 18+ to use the category.

In order to verify your age you would need to download the YOTI application which is available for Android and iOS users here:

Android -  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yoti.mobile.android.live&hl=en_GB
Apple (iOS) - https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/yoti-your-digital-identity/id983980808?mt=8

If you have questions about application's functionality you can write to vivastreet@yoti.com

As soon as you are verified the disclaimer in your account will disappear.

Hi Sara,

I have been emailing Vivastreet all weekend and I have asked for those who cannot access Yoti for whatever reason - eg the devices are not compatible with the app - can we not email you a photo of our passport  instead thus proving the identity link between ourselves and our bank details. The details on the passport are what we have to provide Yoti with anyway. But so far no one has answered this question.

And my email sent Friday evening was not replied to until this morning.

What weekend email service?

They've told me to contact Yoti.

I followed all VS instructions yet they can't confirm the verification.

I'm off out now.

Hello Gypsy,

The application itself has a process that you have to go through before verifying your age. Other than providing a photo of your ID, it requires a recording of the voice and a few selfies. This is to verify if the person providing the ID is the owner as well. Us receiving your ID via email will not suffice in this case.

I know it can be frustrating if your device is not compatible. At the moment it is not mandatory to verify your age so there is still time if you're thinking of an upgrade. All smartphones should be compatible with the application.

This list should make things a bit more easier if you want to make sure the application works on your device:

Operating systems: https://yoti.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/209350585-Which-operating-systems-does-Yoti-support-
Devices: https://yoti.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/209386549-Which-smartphone-models-is-Yoti-compatible-with-

Also if you encounter other issues contact: vivastreet@yoti.com

Thank you for your response Sara. I understand why it's a good idea to have it but the issues surrounding using Yoti for a lot of users is a huge hassle and therefore having no alternative to using this app will be a huge downfall for everyone concerned.

Can you explain the bolder sentence please, are you saying the only way I'll know of the verification worked is by a lack of the pop up "Are you 18?" box when I access my account?
