Patience takes about half a day to full day for them to start for me, and a lot through the night.

How much did you spend? And what for?

Noticing that VS aren't coming here as often as before to address valid concerns, maybe they think ignore it and it will go away whilst laughing all the way to the bank.

I hope they do address the point raised as to why they are still charging escorts silly money when a mod bot is doing (not very well) all their moderation work.

Sorry for the delay it's been busy with the change of process! I'll try to address the issues raised, so here we go:

1) VS being expensive: We base the prices on the number of contacts received advertising with us - this is across the board and is also why the prices vary in locations.
2) Agencies being allowed: Yes we do have a section to allow agencies to advertise; many years ago this was feedback to seperate agencies and independents - as mentioned, if you do feel any of these ads to be suspicious please do highlight directly on the website.
3) FREE Personals: This was changed previously but it appears to have crept back in with the new website design, we'll change it straight away!
4) We do not monitor the forum 24/7 if you need an urgent answer to your query please contact CS 0203 695 8755 or team-uk@vivastreet.com

Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback, as a result we have managed to 'relax' the restrictions to the photo uploads which should help reduce the amount of refusals some of you have been experiencing.

Basically you set your prices based on demand, which is fair enough. I see far to many moans about both yourselves and AW, yet the same people keep using the same sites.............so it's sort of put up or shut up.........except you have this thread going on which you want to improve your service.

I'd probably shut up if you got the geo thingy sorted out, but we both know that isn't happening.

To be fair to Finny and Sarah: they're just employees of a much bigger company. I believe VS is based in France and so I assume they operate in many different countries, each with different laws and I think their legal advisors may be very conservative from that POV.

And Finny and Sarah aren't responsible for the new tech or the rules placed by higher-ups. I'm sure they pass our feedback along - I remember when they listened to our complaints about lumping agencies and independents together - but try to keep your frustration with the site in perspective. They're probably frustrated, as well.

Thanks Mirror, the geo situation has been ongoing quite some time! Whilst I have our tech teams attention let me know what your postcode issue is (es@vivastreet.com) and I will see if I can get them to fix it soon!

Yes, I remember that too. It was bollocks then and it's bollocks now :).

We've always questioned why everybody else who advertises on VS gets free ads while sex workers have to pay (and not just a token, but an extortionate amount) and the party line has always been because the ads require extra moderation which takes a lot more time than those of a hairdressers or a nail bar (the latter of which, ironically, is provably more likely to have trafficked people working in it than the premises of people placing genuine indie ads in the prossie bit of VS).

Now we're told that it's being done by automated Robo-Mods instead of actual people and therefore the costs in terms of staff hours will be minimal, does this mean that the ads will go back to being free? And did a Gloucestershire Old Spot just fly past my window?

Yes and you no what its blatant advantage taking of sex workers by making them pay a ridiculous amount on top im surprised new laws have not tackled this they might not be an agency pimp but there still taking advantage of the job someone does its very wrong and in some ways discrimination against what we do so we have to pay higher. I remember years ago a paper i advertised in for escorting and did an ad for beauty same size box and amount of words escort one was ?150 for 1 week and the other ad was around ?28.

I've corresponded many times on this issue and fear I'll be wasting my time again. I've tried suggestions and fixes, but it requires you to change your geodatabase and last time I was told it isn't going to be happening.

At the moment I have been doing their basic minimum weekly ad at a cost to me of ?5.99.

I have had no problems the past few weeks amending the occasional digit, taking out a comma etc.  Now they say they have changed their moderators and their terms and conditions are changed.

I didn't get anywhere on the 'phone with them.  They are quite happy to continue to advertise my ad but I cannot make any amendments.

Is there anybody else who has had the issue in the past few days?

Also I am not sure what terms and conditions have changed.

If I cannot make amendments a few times a day it isn't worth continuing the ad as I will just be at the bottom of the list of adverts.

5.99 for and ad on VS? I thought was 14.99. Also, I don't see the option to change location  ::)

Yes that's right, to correct all locations it will require an overhaul to our geodatabase (which is a big project). I can imagine how many times you've had this conversation but I'm happy to see if I can get a specific postcode changed whilst I am in discussions with our tech team. All I need to know is the full postcode you want to advertise in, what is should show and what it is incorrectly showing!

As mentioned throughout this thread, the cost of adverts depends on your area so one person might well get a basic ad for 5.99 but another in a different area may pay 14:99 or something else.
