£14.99 for a basic weekly ad, currently.

So that’s double, as it was £6.99.

I’m sure the pimps that use VS can afford to pay the ridiculous rates. I honestly wouldn’t mind if I got any decent business from it!

It's been £14.99 for months I think. I think that is fair for a week but I wouldn't pay the higher prices as I only work twice a week.

I was thinking of doing a package but it sounds like they are taking the piss!

A ‘HUGE’ increase needs to be explained on here by VS if they want us to advertise. I have already noticed an increase from £6.99 to £12.99 for a basic posting.

Please answer, VS.

When I advertised with VS in my area a basic cost £12.99  per week, approximately 10 years ago, plus £2.99 to add a link to my website. But they couldn't even use a decent geographic database, I had to use an obscure postcode to get my advert anywhere relatively close.

Thanks for the messages, here to answer as requested.

Yes, we have had a price increase, reflective of the value of these locations. We understand it may have come as a shock as we haven’t had a price increase in many years and have made adjustments over the year. All categories have been reviewed this year and discount offers continue to be available.
We hope you continue to post with us.

How do l go about getting a discount offer?
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

What is interesting is that the higher priced area had low population density, and not many advertisers.

Sounds like VS work on a revenue per area but have realised there's a captive audience in more popular locations?

Ever since VS changed the postcode, it's been a struggle to use. Now with the verification, has anybody advertised with them and what's the post code system working like?

I think you phone them.  They offered me a package when I called them about an unrelated issue but I don't use them after the postcode fiasco. Not worth it if you're in the wrong area.

Dani, verification is on the tenth I think. I'm not doing it. As I stay in one area mostly, I'm just gonna go onto some other sites. I suppose they will eventually have to verify us too but doesn't seem like it yet?

I'm not doing it either. It doesn't bring enough business and it doesn't put me in the right area either. I don't really know other sites.

Tried to verify but got rejected, the reason being my face apparently looks younger than the age in the document! FFS, that's somehow included in our job to look younger, isn't it!?!?

It's really very difficult to verify. First it said I don't look the age. Then it said I do not look like the picture in my document. That I need to present another document.
Disaster.

So if we do botox, etc. we'll be rejected. Hilarious.  Nobody looks good in a passport picture
