For the love of God VS, enough with the URLs. I literally don't know where to start so I may as well leave them until the thread moves on, but do not post any more. We're irritated and frustrated, not bloody simple.

I know it can be frustrating if your device is not compatible. At the moment it is not mandatory to verify your age so there is still time if you're thinking of an upgrade. All smartphones should be compatible with the application.

They maybe should be, but they're not - I have a Samsung S7 Edge which isn't and also a Samsung tablet (ditto). Not that it matters, since hell will freeze over before I'm sending videos of myself to some random app - what exactly is this part supposed to prove? And I take it the people here will be able to cover their legal names should they wish to, since it's only their date of birth which is being called into question?

Can you please tell us (without faffing, flannelling or further waffle - if you don't know then say so) when this will become mandatory? I'm likely to be pushing fifty by then, but if you think I might still be a minor then you crack on and I'll start planning what to do with the extra sixty quid a month I'll save by not advertising with you.

there is still time if you're thinking of an upgrade.

Having just looked again the newest Samsung phone which is compatible is the S6, which is the model below mine and three models behind the current issue (S9). So I'd actually have to downgrade.

I asked them this too Amy and the reply was they don't have a date yet.

If they're asking everyone to voluntary verify now the least you'd expect is for them to have a definite date for when it's going to be compulsory.

It all seems a bit vague to me to be honest.

I’m sure there will be other girls in my situation so I thought I would ask the question.

I am Indian girl from a strict Indian background. I have recently moved back in with my parents after traumatic incident and do this every now and then. It’s a form of escapism for me and tour whenever possible. I only advertise on Viva every now and then.

My mother keeps all our important documents like deeds, birth certificates passports etc and so I cannot just ask for my passport without my mother asking me a million and one questions on why I want it and won’t just give it to me like that. I don’t drive and cannot afford my family finding out what I do every now and then as I have only just moved back in. I would be willing to send a photo but besides that there isn’t much more I could do without putting myself as risk, would that mean that I could no longer advertise with you once it becomes mandatory.

The app reads and picks up all the info on the document, which I found very alarming. It then apparently only sends the bit of info the requester needs to see e.g. D.O.B in the meantime you have this app on your phone which carries all the rest of your info accessed via a PIN code which you create.

I still want to know if my verify was successful or not before I remove this app, without having to second guess or send emails back and forth.

Surely VS know?

I'm about to upgrade to a much better Android, will be interesting to see if it's compatible or not. If not hard luck.

No need to panic I'll bet they are just trying to persuade more to do it, like they tried with photo verification. The App was fairly intrusive it reads your information from passport, driving licence or a document I can't remember, then it wants a face photo plus video of you saying some words. It then sends DOB to VS although I've nothing to confirm VS have received this, nothing to say I'm verified - despite following the onscreen VS procedure.

For me it was also heavy to give all my private information, I did it tonight  >:( now I hope they verify my age ...
really that they have become heavy.  :FF Today I  come for to do my tour in London and I could not publish my AD on VivaStreet ....!!!
I really did not expect this stone in my shoe ... !!! :FF
Imagine with immense joy that you are living the life of your dreams, do it every day without exception, because this is a way to add energy to the purpose.

What did i just read that right not only do they want all the i.d plus face photo plus a video of you speaking? This has got to be a joke???

Even years ago to advertise in newspapers in adult section they just wanted proof of address and to sign a document.

These adverts are becoming ridiculous all they need is driving licence or passport etc to see you are over 18 plus maybe a bill in the name and address etc anything else is getting really really stupid. Video is a step way too far.

Well they could have told us when they were online earlier, but apparently decided not to bother.

They don't need anything in anybody's legal name or containing their address, because neither are checkable against anybody's ad. The photo ID with a date of birth displayed and nothing else is more than enough, but apparently not for Yoti/VS.

Not that I can look, since it doesn't work on my phone ::)

Hello everyone,

It sounds like there's a few different types of concerns or issues here around the age verification. So to put everyone at ease, here are a few points to remember:
- the age verification is not mandatory at the moment - so you can do it, or not, it's up to you, it won't prevent you from using the service as usual (unless of course you're not 18 ;) )

- YOTI is supposed to work on most smartphones with up to date software. If you're having issues, contact us, and we'll figure it out!

- We have decided to use a 3rd party to make sure that the verification processes we have in place are as extensive as possible, and we chose YOTI because it puts you in control of your own data (you can decide what you share and when to stop YOTI holding that data for you). To us, it seems more secure and reliable than sending a copy of your passport to different websites (check their About Us -> Our principles page).

- Age verification mandatory: no, we don't have a date right now. We're testing the providers, the flow, and want to hear from you first, so thanks for sharing your feedback!

In any case, we're here to help, so any specific issue is easier to deal with directly with our CS team at team-uk@vivastreet.com or 0203 695 8755.
For specific queries in this forum please email saafe@vivastreet.co.uk, for general +44 (0) 203 695 8755 or email team-uk@vivastreet.com

Oh so we are a testbed (as usual), if you'd asked upfront a few of us would have been able to tell all before sending out emails.

No one has been able to confirm whether I'm verified or not, and I'm not interested in spending time figuring it out with your customer service.

I'm in the midst of a mega data transfer as my old PC decided to start to die on me this week, 8 years of my life needs to be kept safe. Far more important use of my time.

Ok viva street my feedback is you are making it too complicated needing too much info. I personally think you should just ask for i.d that verifies you're birth date like driving licence or passport the seperate videos photos is a step too far and uncomfortable.

All you are doing is trying to make sure someone is of legal age to advertise plus if they pay for adverts via credit card for example another bit of proof they are not underage and if you want to combat any kind of trafficking then it would be obvious if 1 person is paying for multiple adverts say for multiple EE women just as an example then you could say we do not take adverts off third parties sending in different passports but only 1 person paying for the actual whole lot of ads.

By making all these rules and multiple things asked like the seperate videos pictures etc is probably going to stop a lot advertising with you if it becomes mandatory.

Can i ask is most of these new rules pressure from elsewhere or are you tackling trafficking pimping because if it is the second reason then that is sorted very easily no paid adverts for muliple adverts of different women but paid for by the same person. That would stop a lot of the trafficking and make it much harder for them to by pass it on a regular basis.

Having removed the Yoti app I just looked up how to close my account, seems this can only be done from within the App and requires a selfie as part of the closing process  :o

So I can't even remove my data without giving them more  :FF :o ???

The more and more I am reading on this whole situatuon it seems less about “verification” and more about harvesting information/data on people.
