I was going to repost my advert this Sunday. I will be away from home that day, with no option or time to start changing photos or contacting customer service.

How can I be confident that I can do this?

Hello Mirror   ;D,

I would try to make a slight change to my ad so I can put it through the publishing system and see if it gets approved. This way I can make sure my ad definitely goes live on Sunday!

It just sounds to me like Vivastreet isn't very escort friendly at the moment and needs to improve its new arrangements.

Did you miss my Q?

Why is there nowhere on your website which state these new changes? Why is it too much for VS to have a clear list of dos and donts?

Hello Gracious,

I am sorry to be hearing that you cannot locate a run down of our rules when posting an ad.

Please take a quick look at our Terms and Conditions, where you can locate the 'do's and don't' of publishing an ad on Vivastreet for each category - http://www.vivastreet.co.uk/s/legal

This is what we base our posting rules on, so it should help you in getting your ad successfully published on the website!

Escorts and Massages:

The following are prohibited to be advertised with specific reference to the Escorts and Massages category:

Offering services that give a sense of prostitution, human trafficking or any other type of illegal sex work.
We do not allow use of sexual toys to be demonstrated.
We do not allow more than 1 girl in an image unless it's a duo service.
Ads that contain images of full nudity and sexual or suggestive positions
Gay Escorts need to include a picture

No where does it mention words (like 'sensual') or rates in our description being forbidden, uploading pics in a bra and panties are no longer allowed etc. If you update the rules then surely this section should also be updated too? (and this is the point Im alluding to!)

Not surprised to hear that. My ad expires tomorrow so Im not looking forward to all the hassle Im sure Im about to face!

Has anyone else noticed that there arent as many ads up as there usually is? In my area, the featured ads are usually on the first and second page but now its only filled up half of the first page!

It's not live because I don't want it active this week, I put it up when I want extra business/enquiries. I'm fine this week, and thought I'd just log in quickly on Sunday and renew the same one I had up a few weeks ago.

Sounds like it could cause me a bit of hassle, and I'm tempted to save the ?12.98 it costs for basic ad + web link for the week and catch up on a few other things instead.

Exactly this!

First of all, prostitution isn't illegal.

Second, this is all too broad and vague. What is a "suggestive position?"

You need to clarify what you want and give firm guidelines.

It seems to me that Viva have got the shits in the wake of the Backpage CEO being arrested in the US and have decided to go down the route of "plausible deniability".

This is the same way Friday-Ad worked in the 90s (and probably still does!) - as long as the company can say "Hey, as far as we're concerned, a massage is just a massage and an escort just spends time with you for cash" they're happy.

It probably means we're going to go back to the vague euphemisms of the 20th century:
"Firm massage" means I offer domination
"Soft massage" means I offer submission
"Experienced" means mature
"New" means young
and let's not forget "French and Greek lessons available"
Bloody hell, let's hope Viva provide a TARDIS  ::)

God bless you girl!!!! Finally someone gets my point!!!

The rules are not actually the issue but that the guidelines are not clear cut (and not being updated). We cant be kept on the 'straight and narrow' if these rules are no where on the website but only being shared on here/over the phone (and even then its mixed information).

All I want to know is why all this stuff isnt on your website with clarification and a firm guideline of dos and donts!

But VS (I believe) are based in Europe so surely this cant be a concern for them  ???

I don't understand how on AW you can advertise your services and rates and have revealing photos but on VS where you are paying in some cases a lot of money to advertise you cant say bugger all about what you offer or have photos that show anymore than a glimpse of cleavage.

+1 It's like they're in denial about what they're offering, whilst wanting to make maximum profit from sex workers!
