We haven't 'approved' of it, we've just let you mention it in the short time between its conception and you abandoning it because you can't attract enough users (income) to make the costs in time and money worthwhile.

There's a series of links to people who've gone before you thinking they have invented the greatest new directory. In trying to find them, I did a search for 'directory' and it was a long way down the list before I found one that wasn't dead.

Basically, you can be as wonderful as you want, but someone else got there first with something that's good enough and - mostly - free to use. Competing with that is like developing an auction site (not hard) and competing with eBay (virtually impossible).
