Market Research Request: Websites
« on: 23 July 2011, 10:20:28 am »
Hi All, I have a question regarding websites used by independent escorts and was hoping to get some valued feedback from this forum.....

When setting up as an independent is it vital for you to have your own website or do many just market on directories and places like adult work? I know adult work is hit and miss for some but the holy grail for others so I was wondering how important you see as having your own website?

Also if you were to purchase your own site what would be the maximum you would be willing to spend to have it all set up and running?

Thanks!

Alex, I'm not sure why you think a forum with a big title at the top saying "Support And Advice For Escorts" is the right place to try and do a bit of half-arsed market research, but anyway.

Have you tried using the search form? Putting in the word "website" will find you roughly a zillion topics about websites, about how important they are and about who's making websites for whom and how much they're charging.

My personal answer is: I will not ever be paying you to make a website because, like many independent, indoor (i.e. not street-based) sex workers, I am incredibly computer literate and can make my own. Sorry.

Then in the event you do, I hope you read them more carefully then you did our Forum Guidelines. Anyway...

When setting up as an independent is it vital for you to have your own website
Yes

do many just market on directories and places like adult work?
Yes

I know adult work is hit and miss for some but the holy grail for others so I was wondering how important you see as having your own website?
Vital or not, depending on the individual and how/where they work.

Also if you were to purchase your own site what would be the maximum you would be willing to spend to have it all set up and running?
Whatever it was to get what I wanted depending on the design and features of the site, although that's really none of your business.

The amount of chancers who think they are entitled to a slice of our hard-earned never ceases to infuriate me.
