"ClientEye Full" has been updated to a our newer app "ClientEye +" , so you will have 2 apps in your device

ClientEye + which will start as normal, ClientEye Full which will put you into an updating loop forcing users to use the newer app

Thank you that is confusing, I have now removed the CEF.

It is a bit  :( , we can (via the auto update) get users to install the new version, unfortunatly we cannot uninstall the older version as part of that process.

Every app has a start up process which takes time, we fill ours with the splash screen, without it users would get a blank space or static page experience

I should probably say that in my day job I am a professional software engineer.

The splash screen always plays in full regardless of how much data is in the app. Its implausible that you would manage to time a coherent animation to play for just the amount of time it takes to load the application (since loading time is going to be dependent on all sorts of factors outside of your control, such as how much data needs to be loaded and what device it is running on) so most likely the loading time is significantly less than that.

A better user experience would be to have a loading screen which
  • Tells the user it is a loading screen
  • Only displays for the actual time it takes to load the application

Loading times depend very much on the data thats being loaded and the device loading it, typically this is between 4 & 8 seconds for our apps.
Our splash screen is 7 seconds long and is our loading screen as i'm sure users understand.

I think including the phrase "App loading, please wait" under the logo would probably help.

I'm a fairly experienced technical professional and it wasn't obvious to me, so I'd bet that many of your users won't understand that. Is there any reason why you can't cut the animation short as soon as the data finishes loading? At any rate, this excellent suggestion

I think including the phrase "App loading, please wait" under the logo would probably help.

Would at least help users understand why they have to wait.

In regards to Whatsapp, unfortunatly it's a closed system and cannot be accessed to do call or message checking.

WhatsApp might be closed system, but Android isn't. A quick Google search tells me its possible to listen for push notifications using a NotificationListenerService. If you can read the phone number from that notification, then you'd be able to use it in the same way you listen to SMS messages.

If you want to avoid the extra few seconds (0-4) your device may not need to load the app and avoid the 7 second start screen, you can keep the app open in the background and use it to paste any number or manually search, the start screen only appears upon first starting, once started the screen won't appear again unless shut down.

Alternatively (for Calls/SMS) you can use the (expanded) Call/SMS notifications that appears in Android to view or report, this bypasses the start screen and loads the report description or reporting pages directly.

In regards to using NotificationListenerService to monitor whataspp notifications and reading the number in that notification to perform a search, yes it very well maybe doable assuming we request the permission and the user then allows Notification Listener Service to listen to whatsapp, BUT, and it's a big BUT, it would require investigation and further app development all of which costs £1000's.

I would be happy to pay a fee to not get pop up ads.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

The ads are tedious.

We have plans to have an option to remove the ads but for now they are helping pay the monthly bills

The ads are tedious.

Yes they are but necessary in order to help pay the bills

Client eye is a free service for us and very helpful with the warnings. I am very grateful to have it and the start up and ads is not a huge deal. Apps do cost money to run and time so the ads just need to generate some money back.

Of course there can be teething problems and maybe certain things people don't like but lets remember it's free for us and has probably saved us all loads of timewasters and dangerous or oddball men seeing us.

Don't misunderstand CE is fabulous, I find it excellent incredibly useful.

Was only an observation and know they need revenue to keep going.

I recently wanted to donate some money but the crowd funder had ended, would be very happy to contribute to running costs.

Devs, since the new version I'm not getting pop ups for texts or calls. I've uninstalled the previous version. Any ideas? OnePlus 5, same OS I've been using since November.

Devs, since the new version I'm not getting pop ups for texts or calls. I've uninstalled the previous version. Any ideas? OnePlus 5, same OS I've been using since November.

Please check the following to see if it helps:

1. When you first install the app & click into each of the sections like List / Contacts / SMS it will request permission to access the information, IF the permission has been denied then the app cannot see when calls or sms are received and can not check them, this could be your problem.

2. Click the notification BELL icon in the top row to check if you have have the Call & SMS notification options enabled if not enable them, if they are try disabling then enabling.

3. If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall to app to see if that solves the issue

4. Having other call monitoring apps installed in a device can route calls and sms information through them and avoid the default call/sms handler our apps look at, so also please check if you have any other apps installed causing the issue.

5. If nothing works message us on Twitter or via email or the support ticket software built into the app and will do our best to solve the issue for you.
