We received an update from the Play Store a few days ago with a change in their policy from Jan/Feb 2018.

This change restricts ALL apps that makes use of Call log and SMS log permissions, unfortunately this includes ClientEye  . Because of this change in policy we will soon be forced to update our play store listing to a "ClientEye Lite" version without the Call/SMS log and live notification features.

If you wish to avoid this forced "Lite" version update and keep all the current app features you can uninstall the Play store listing of ClientEye & download the unaltered full version from our website www.clienteye.app. You will need to & allow instals from "Other sources".

Can you explain in layman's terms?

Play store are soon going to restrict the ability of ALL apps that read incomming call/sms numbers, we use these to show notifications. Because of this restriction we will have to release an app version without this feature in order to comply and stay on play store.

HOWEVER if the current app is downloaded from our website (rather than Play Store) it won't be restricted when the changes eventually happen

Thanks. So the .apk will still be downloadable? Will it have access to the database of what users have already uploaded?

ClientEye update regarding numbers reported on saafe that end ** (2500+ in past 5 years)

This update has now been activated.
If a client calls or sends a message & theres an EXACT (example: 07123456789) match on the clienteye database, a report will show as normal.

If there is a PARTIAL match on saafe (example: 071234567**) a report will show as follows

"A partial number match may exist for this number.
Please search www.saafe.info/main (replacing last 2 digits with ** or xx) for more report details.".

All these changes are background ones so no app update is required it will just work

I got this message today when I ran a potential clients number through client eye, I checked on SAAFE but couldn't find the report.  I cancelled the booking as I felt a bit nervous just in case the was a warning that I couldn't find.

90% of the numbers reported on saafe in the last 5 years follow the same format for seaching 071234567** or 071234567XX the other 10% may be formatted slightly differently i.e. 07123 4567** or +4471234567**

Is there a reason why Saafe makes you ommit the last two numbers? Just asking. It’s just more and more places these days are letting you put the whole number in.
