Hi All,

we have been commissioned by the NHS to provide outreach sexual health services to people in Oxfordshire, as part of this we have been asked to engage with people who are sex workers.

So we thought it would be good to find out your opinions on what it is you actually need from us and sexual health services in Oxfordshire.

we would like to arrange a meet up in the new year, we'd put on tea coffee and some snacks and you'd tell us about what you would like from the service.

Just gauging interest at the moment, we'll arrange a time and venue after Christmas.

Thanks THT team.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to invite you to a brunch event in Oxford on the 16th of March 11:00-13:00 in the East Oxford Community Centre, on Cowley Road.

This will be an informal drop-in event to allow you to tell us about what you might want from support services in Oxfordshire, we'll provide tea, coffee and some pastries.

We’ll also have a load of condoms and lube for you too take with you as well if you’d like.

THT are one of the largest sexual health charities in the UK and have lobbied for decriminalisation of sex work. We have been commissioned to offer support services for people doing sex work in Oxfordshire, we are working in conjunction with other support services in Oxfordshire.

Please let us know if you’d like to attend so we can get an idea of numbers and order in enough doughnuts  ;D

Hi, I've spoken to national THT people about supporting decriminalisation and they've said that they "can't" at the minute. THT hasn't sent any submissions into any of the enquiries into sex work and never raises it with MPs at event. Please raise this nationally!

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know the NHS team are hard at work trying to get online testing orders up and running.

They are currently offering Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea testing by post here: https://www.sexualhealthoxfordshire.nhs.uk/chlamydia-screening/

I'll also be on the look out for other services in Oxfordshire that are supporting sex workers.

Please feel free to contact us on here if you've got any questions about accessing sexualhealth and contraceptive servies in Oxfordshire.

We need something like this in essex. Im in desperate need of a coil exchange and have been told by SH 24. Its not essential and if i dont like it then dont work. Obviously i also use condoms but having a coil fitted stops my periods otherwise i could literally not be able to move let alone work due to periods that were so heavy i would flood everywhere. Any advice is gratefully recieved please an thank you. X

Do you have a local contraception clinic or GUM?

In my area (nowhere near Essex) they are triaging from one of the clinics by phone calls, the service manager fielding both contraceptive and GUM enquiries. Although I'm not working I wanted to keep my testing up-to-date/make sure something is there before I return. Manager was really helpful and encouraging.

If you just need a new Mirena you should be able to get one privately at somewhere like Marie Stopes, if they're still open/working.

I had a chat with the Lead consultant in Oxfordshire the other day and they have posted some information about LARC methods and how long they are effective for outside of what the licence says.

I think if they are willing to put their neck on the line over this you can trust that its reliable.
