Hello everyone,
Can anyone recommend a good gum clinic for sw in London preferably central london that is open on weekends. I did a search on google and saafe but could not find anything. I am interested in getting contraceptive pill and cant go to GP.
Thanks

burrell street but you need to go as soon as they open. if you can afford it, superdrug and lloyds do online private prescriptions for the pill.

Thanks Mrh,
I had a look at superdrug online, they offer 5 different types of pill. I dont know which one is best. Can you recommend. I never use it before.
For burrell street, do you have to tell them you are a sw to ask for pill, advise etc. For walk in appointments on weekdays, do you have to wait for hours?

If you haven't taken oral contraceptives before I wouldn't buy them online. I get mine from Superdrug, but I've been taking them for the best part of thirty years and IMO you need a doctor to discuss taking them - there can be all sorts of side effects and as you've seen, there are lot of choices.
You don't necessarily need a GUM for this though - does your surgery have a Family Planning clinic or anything similar?

Thanks amy. Yes seeing a doctor would be best. There is a sexual health clinic near me but i want to do it anonymously. Not sure if they will refer me back to GP. Dont know if it is for sw or just for anyone. I tried to google gum for sw, it does not show any in my area. So thinking of going to burrell street.

Sorry if I'm being dim, but why does it need to be anonymous? It's best to discuss the options with your GP to work out which pill is best for you. Remember it's all confidential. If there's an issue with your current GP, perhaps switch? If you had any complications you're going to have to tell your GP or other health workers anyway, and it's not as if there's any obvious link between taking the pill and being a sex worker?
