CLASH sexual health clinic
« on: 08 January 2018, 10:56:17 am »
 Hello

I just wanted to let you all know I?ve been to the CLASH clinic for female sex workers this morning at Mortimer Market Center in London. It was my first time going to this clinic as I usually go Dean Street or St Mary?s in Paddington. It?s a walk in clinic on Mondays and Fridays and I was in and out within 45 minutes. The nurse said that Monday mornings are quieter and Fridays are busier because they offer translators for girls on that day. Really non judgemental nurse who seems to be pretty clued up on the industry. They do also offer all kinds of support and help there too i didn?t take them up on any of this but If you are struggling with this work or need someone to talk to this seems like a good place to go.
I think I will be using this as my regular place for my check ups.
Do any of you ladies have any other good recommendations for sexual heath clinics? I know now that everywhere is really difficult to get into as the appointments get booked up very fast

Hi,

Really glad to see that you had a good experience. We at Summit Support are currently in the process of applying for some funding to set up a project in the West Midlands area. You said that the service offered all kinds of other support ! I was just wandering weather you could tell me what this other support was? I would really appreciate any feedback or suggestions you or anyone else had on what the current needs are of both indoor and street based sex workers. We are a sexual health charity so obviously we would be providing all the usual sexual health advice, condoms etc. However, what else do you feel is important for sex work projects to be providing. You can reply to me on here or private email me on joanne@shsl.org.uk

Thanks

Jo
