I have had a couple of sets done in London and here are my thoughts on my experiences:

Joes Glamour - the backgrounds were bizarre (black and white lino and a english coutry garden backdrop??!!), same poses and backgrounds for all girls, and the retouching was too much and I looked really fake! My shoot was in a tiny studio in a  basement flat in earls court.

Michael in Chelesea  - I think he is escort exposure but i had a different website for him which I have forgotten. Pictures and experience were overall better than Joe's. Big proper studio  in Chelsea and female makeup artist stayed so I felt comfortable, but poses/backgrounds are same for each girl pretty much.

Moto - 1moto.com - in East London studio. (area felt a bit dodgy, would get a cab to the address). My friend had them done here and quality, choice of backgrounds and props etc was about the same  as Michaels, and I think about the same price range.

Gary Silver - not in London but thought I might as well add it. My friend used him in Brighton but felt he missed the mark quite a bit and she wasn't keen on these photos, some london agencies didnt feel they were good enough as there was too much going on with props and not enough flesh.

The verdict from my friend and I - Alec Fasani or Ella for our next sets London is so competitive and  there is nothing worse than  wondering if we would be earning more from better photos!

Thanks for all your replies.  Alec Fasani's pics look great...has anyone used him before?

Also, I found www.glamourlookphotography.co.uk      A female photographer, no experience myself but my friend has used her and recommends.

Do you mean Jon Silver in Brighton? I have a photoshoot in June with him if so.

I think she means Gary Silver. He was doing a big spam drive last year.

Ellas photos are lovely but yes very pricey , i had a set done ages ago probably a bit out of my budget now.

Friend of mine has a shoot on tuesday that sounds pretty good. Her female agent has arranged it for her because she has been messed around with photographers in the past (and I think is going to be there on the day to make sure she gets the shots she needs)
its a young photographer (male) who used to shoot for the adult channels and some fashion stuff, stylist, hair & make up all in some fancy Mayfair nightclub, think she is paying around ?450-?500

If anyone wants to see her photos PM me as she should have them back next week so I can send a link to her website xxx

I can recommend Michael (Escort Exposure), the make-up artist stayed throughout the shoot and touched up as necessary. I had at least 6 outfit changes and got a cd and print out of every shot he took to take home at the end of the session (half day I think). The airbrushed versions were up on agency site pretty quickly and while they were very sexy they weren't too over the top glam.
I'd love to have some photos done by Ella. I think I've read on the Guild of Harlots that she doesn't let you choose which pics to airbrush any more. Does anyone know if that's true (it's possible my memory's playing tricks on me), although looking at the photos on her  new site  I'd be quite prepared to trust her. Definitely worth saving up for.

Can we keep the agency namedropping for PMs, ladies? Stay on topic, please.

Sorry Amy, I asked for this thread to be an open one for discussing 'togs back at the beginning; group PMs get so spammy and I think a few of us just needed some reviews cos there's unfortunately no way of telling from a 'tog's site whether he or she is nice to work with, or is a total perv who's a menace with the airbrush.

Once this thread has aged a little, I can go through and remove any names given, along with posting an explanation for anyone who stumbles upon it in a year or decade's time (recommendations can get out-of-date so quickly and that can be extra-annoying in our biz).

I think it should go without saying that no one should take advice from the Internet (even glorious SAAFE ;)) without thinking it over for themselves first. So both positive and negative reviews should be taken with equally large pinches of salt - to anyone who's reading this looking for new photos done. Taking a lovely, patient friend along is always a good idea if you're worried that the 'tog might be pushy or pervy.

No need to remove photographer's names. We don't have any policy against that. I think Amy was actually talking about agencies, but I don't see the name-dropping. Possibly in CeCe's post before she edited it?

Yeah it was, sorry. A couple of agencies had been mentioned in previous posts and I wasn't thinking. Hopefully all's amended now. :-[

Yes, that's exactly what I meant although as Anika says I can see why the post doesn't make a lot of sense now. The thread is about photographers and whether they're any good, and whilst there's nothing wrong with swapping details by PM if you think that someone having worked for Pimp #3 rather than Pimp #4 lends them credibility of some kind (rather than just posting links to their photography sites) that's fine, but we don't need to read actual names on here as giving the agencies some free publicity/kudos that isn't what the thread is about.

At no point in my post do I appear to have misspelt 'agencies' as 'photographers', so why anyone would think I was asking them to remove photographers names is going to have to remain a mystery. Thanks for clearing it up CeCe (and if anybody is going to write about a photographer being a sleazy, overpriced lech with BO, or whatever, I do suggest you keep that to PM too ;D).

Back to photographers then. I had my first ever professional shoot with Alec Fansani although I didn't pay anyway near ?900. The photos were amazing and the make-up artist made me look incredible, nothing like I've ever looked before or since. Interestingly I never got a single job from those photos, although that may have been because they were in a gallery full of equally amazing photos of really stunning girls. And who knows if I was even faintly promoted.

Alright, alright! I literally didn't see the word "agency" in your post, is all, 'specially as CeCe had edited hers before I noticed any agency names in there, too. No worries then.

In the rather clearer light of 10am, anyway, I think I'm going to take my own advice and just share a photoshoot with someone who is also grumpy and stingy. ;D That way, I'll have some backup for any potential NO MORE AIRBRUSHING arguments, potential additional help with posing so that I don't look like a colossal thigh monster, and I don't even need the 'tog to do anything beside take pretty pictures anyway since I can airbrush stuff myself.

So, yeah - anyone who might fancy splitting the cost of maybe a day-rate hotel room (if needed) and a photographer here in London, send me a PM! Oh - I'll definitely need a make-up artist since I never even use liquid foundation on myself, let alone to a studio finish level. You can have all the tog's airbrushing work that's included in the shoot, though, cos I'll just do mine at home.

i am always on look out for proper photographers, and couldnt believe my eyes when i saw this guy had an ad on adultwork...not sure if its still there tho, but his website is:   http://www.pauls-studio.co.uk/

this guy is a professional photographer, been published in photographers mags and everything, he is the real deal....he has lots of models on his site, all gorgeous....anyway, i went to see him where he lives and has his studio, and i said i wanted make up and he provided a professional to come in and i paid her ?50 i think for that...his charge was really reasonable, somewhere in region of ?250 or less ....and he gives a cd of all the pics taken which are in region of hundreds, i brought many costume changes and that was all fine. i heartily recommend him.  He also does touch ups of photos  if required.

I had a shoot yesterday with Ella and have nothing but good things to say about her.  She fit me into her schedule within a week, and let me come round to her place first to chat about the shoot prior to going ahead.  She was also extremely discreet and didn't ask questions, very experienced, professional and respectful.  I was a total mess on the day of the shoot  but she managed to get good results out of me despite the fact I was in such a state I couldn't even finish the shoot with my final outfit!

I went for the ?350 shoot and was at her place for a good 3 hours.  She listens to what you want from your shoot and knows which poses look good and doesn't take too many shots - I've walked away from some shoots with 100s of photos (most of which are useless) to whittle down to the final shots, but from Ella I got 80 to cut down to 8 for retouching - she does let you chose which you want.
