I don't understand? You can be the color of charcoal, a camera is still going to capture your beauty.

Jesus so disrespectful... not necessarily, if a photographer has never worked with dark skin tones, he/she may not know how to play with background colours to make someone’s skin stand out and/or blend.

Not every photographer can work with darker skin tones, this is a well known issue in the black community.  Just an FYI.

Absolutely. As a black female myself this is the main reason I thoroughly look through their gallery and see how many ebony black ladies the photographer has worked with. If the style lighting is great then I go ahead with the photographer.

Hi

I’m looking to get some new photos taken either in London or not too far away from the city. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I want a photographer to visit me at the Ritz. Any excuse to go there lol. Best breakfast ever.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

Hello everyone,

Can anyone recommend any good photographers? I have used Alan Thomas and Mick Capture, both who I like,  however I'm looking for someone more natural....

I had a shoot with RVDS today and would recommend if you're looking for a polished shoot!  I've had so many photoshoots and the issue is the editing, finding someone who doesn't over edit and also one who doesn't under edit/only uses a smoothing filter and doesn't remove armpit bulges or twisted lingerie straps! Anyway he was great to shoot with and has lots of posing ideas and showed me the shots as we went along. I was a little worried about having a studio shoot as I'm not stick thin but I'm so happy with the raws he sent!  I was really comfortable and he was completely professional, no perverted comments (which has happened with previous photographers) and just want to recommend for anyone looking for a photographer. His website is https://www.ruanvandersande.com/

Agreed. Heard way to many stories about Alec - him being creepy, harraser, also presenting with very bad quality pictures.

Yeah, I keep hearing the stories more frequently now, including on Twitter. Matter of time before he gets reported to NUM and is done.

My experience with Martin Levinson was vile, lazy, dishonest and insulting. Extremely poor pictures, I couldn't use one from a 2 hour shoot. I spoke to him politely about the awfull shots and he was a cunt about it. Totally unprofessional.

I recently had a shoot with Hédoniste London and am super happy with the results! She was very helpful with finding a location, advice with colours/outfits and then put me into poses that enhance my curves (something I struggled with other photographers who only shoot super thin girls that look good in anything). She is also in the SW community, so knows what to look out for and gave me some really helpful advice! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for someone who has experience in all body shapes and skin tones. I found her through her Twitter but she also has a website and the pricing is very affordable xx

The only good photographer is At Glamour London.

Have heard good things about Lust for Life and Hedoniste London too would recommend - both females too so you will feel 100% safe and not uncomfortable

Avoid Alec Fasani

Mick Capture not great either
