I am involved in a professional caring position and want to go on to study person centred counselling in the future.
I have in the past lived though an unhealthy, some might say abusive, relationship and my recovery has given me a passion to help other women in a similar position.
Person centred counselling is really a space to let you be you. It is not a program and has no time limit or structure other than what you set. It is often something that takes time as trust is needed for you to feel comfortable to talk freely. For me the aim of counselling is to feel a little lighter and to have a space to develop positive though and feeling patterns that can be extended to all of your life.
I know through bitter experience how hard it is to get NHS mental health help and if you are not with a sympathetic employer or self employed you can be stuck.
All I would want is the possibility of an anonymous reference.
