A pre-nup solicitor?
« on: 02 May 2011, 01:27:27 am »
Hi all

Does anyone know of or could recommend an escort friendly solicitor who can advise on pre-nups etc?

I thought pre nups were just an American thing and not valid in uk courts. Also In marriges without children it's not as simple now as once divorced the wife gets half. If he wants you to be  kept woman you'll get bugger all really..

apart from that can I say what everyones probably thinking about this situation but what?!!??!  :o

Guys tell me daily on cam they'll marry me and "treat me like a princess (hello im 26 not 6!!))

Yes - definitely look up recommendations for a good solicitor (perhaps elsewhere on the 'net though, since a forum with an unofficial motto of Safety & Sanity 4 All (okay, I just made that up but it's not far off ;)) is probably only going to respond as Friday has; you are going to marry a client because it's a great offer and you "genuinely like him"?) ... And make sure you sit down with said legal professional, tell them the entire story and listen carefully to the advice they give.

I have no idea about pre-nups but think Friday may be right about them being invalid here.

Perhaps also get a private investigator (this client may not have any of the money he's telling you he has; people can create very elaborate ruses - see the Warnings board on this very forum to find out how escorts have been tricked by rented cars and borrowed houses) and a highly-qualified psychiatrist (I'm sure neither of you want to accidentally marry a mad person).

Due to a recent Supreme Court ruling (2010), unfortunately pre-nups are very much valid in England now. This is due to the increasing number of hearings that have been brought to court in the UK over the past few years.

I would suggest Joanne has a good Google of pre-nup solicitors and have whatever agreement her intended fiance draft up pored through with a very fine tooth comb.

The ruling explicitly says "There can be no question of this Court altering the principle that it is the Court, and not any prior agreement between the parties, that will determine (what happens to the money) when a marriage comes to an end", but yes, things have changed.

It is not only see a specialist time, but see a separate specialist from his. You very much want independent advice from someone with your best interests in mind.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Yes his wife will get half of what he will get, as she was married to him. I would be certain that he is being serious with you about getting a divorce and starting something new with you ? I wouldn't stop doing what you are doing unless you know if he is being for real.
