Accountancy Services
« on: 29 April 2013, 04:27:00 pm »
Hi,

Random post, but i was on another forum, reading reviews *blush* when someone mentioned this site..so i popped over and registered..

mainly because i happened to see this board offering services, for the record, im a fully qualified accountant, cima and acca, so am more than competent to assist in tax and accounts, plus i have the added benefit of being switched on with the various loopholes that can be exploited.

But if anyone needs any help, id be more than happy to offer my services..

and im pretty cheap to be honest :)

Based in the suffolk/norfolk/cambridgshire area..but am happy to help out if anyone wants some advice as a freebie..

you can email me at hyde_andrew@rocketmail.com

if this is classed as out of order then im really sorry to have caused offence, just hate to see people being overcharged for a simple service!

Cheers Andy

You can't use the PM system because this is a sex worker only forum and therefore your only role here is as an advertiser. The Rules for Advertisers are Stickied at the top of the Spamming section below, which will also tell you that you cannot post outside this thread - this is NOT a punting forum.

Please feel free to add contact details to your post, and members can decide for themselves and contact you then.

No problem. You may also want to remove the part about how you have AW feedback as a punter, given that a: it's not relevant here and not particularly appropriate when you're advertising a professional service, and b: anybody who does decide to engage your services is going to be seeing your ID.

I realise AW isnt the best site in the world but i do have a bit of feedback on there under the same username as a client.

From what I can tell, the OP believes people who charge more than he thinks is appropriate is 'overcharging', a little like the way some people think that prossies who charge more than they do for what amounts to the same thing are doing likewise; as ever, it's nowhere near that simple. And just as with prossies, anybody who's that bothered is free to do the job themselves instead of paying somebody else to :).

He has provided an email address for anybody who would like to discuss it further, which is in the post above. Stating that other professional service providers are wrong because they do things differently to you is not the way we do things here, particularly when the subject matter is nothing to do with the purpose of the the forum.

Understand that  ;)

Was curious if he could extend on his post detailing how his services are opposite to what he describes (getting ripped off etc).XX

I don't think he's mentioned anybody getting 'ripped off', just that he thinks that nobody should pay more than X amount for X service, rather than leaving it to people to decide what to do with their money and also ignoring the fact that price is not the only factor people use to choose who they give extremely sensitive personal information to. People in all industries charge (and pay for) whatever they see fit - apart from anything else his fees come to under ?10 a month less than I pay assuming he's including VAT, so it's not as if there's a massive difference.

Either way, I'm sure he'll be happy to discuss it via email. Alternatively, I've no doubt that there are accounting forums with plenty of similar information, in fact I know there is because I've seen them.

Hi,

my fees if anyone needed them on a monthly basis, are for the sake of argument ?20.. im not vat registered as a sole trader, so wouldnt charge VAT on top of that..

or if your happy to fill in your own accounts, i can provide a spreadsheet for free and then charge you for doing the annual return, which would be ?120..providing you use my spreadsheet as it is in the right format for me!

i know of accountants local to me that charge ?80 to a ?100 per day to provide a simple bookeeping service..hence why i dislike finding people paying a higher charge for something that is less than complicated just because your average person gets scared of the whole tax thing..

nat2013 if you want to email me then please feel free, i kind of get the impression that as im offering a service its a bit frowned on, so it might be better to carry the conversation on there if you want?

Amy, your right there are pletny of forums out there that offer accounting advice, but advice is all well and good, but unless you have practical experience you may as well just throw paper at a wall, there is a big gap between knowing the theory and knowing the detail..again, no offense intended.

Andy, this is a forum about sex work - the reason I don't want endless lengthy discussions about accountancy is precisely for the reasons you give; we are not experts on the subject and it's not a question of not being 'approved of' (believe it or not, it's not all about you - we have random people finding the forum and signing up without reading the rules on a daily basis); we often encourage members to seek professional advice on things outside our remit here whether it's on techy stuff, tax issues, healthcare or whatever.

The moderation and admin team here are not accountants, and even if it was fair to expect them to deal with threads containing information that we have no way of knowing is correct, it is NOT what they/we give up our time to do here. In a nutshell, we will not have further off topic discussion on this board, and if necessary, this thread will be locked - there are already links here to an accountancy advice resource specifically dealing with sex work as well as an up to date article on the main sire and it is not the function of the forum to discuss it.

Now for God's sake leave it alone. If nothing else, making blithe statements about what some unspecified other people might charge for X to make yourself look better makes you look like a dick.

im not vat registered as a sole trader

Strange statement seeing as the two things aren't connected.

I'm not an Accountant, and rarely get asked to Roleplay one, but VAT Registration applies to your turnover regardless of whether you are a Sole Trader, Partnership or Limited Company.

I'm not calling this persons credentials into question but at the same time, I think it's a confusing and irrelevant thing to say and the very first thing I would ask from a Professional Accountant would be clear, concise information.
