David39 AW total timewaster
« on: 22 August 2011, 08:16:53 pm »
AW name is "David 39".

Mobile no. 07595 698***

This guy gets off on making bookings, changing them (1st time I met him he changed booking time 5 times - in the end I said just forget it)  He then rang me and said he was running down the seafront and wanted booking at short notice.  I agreed and he turned up in running gear and rucksack drenched from rain.  It is a shame he is such a cretin as he came across as a really lovely guy.  After that he has requested various bookings and there has always been an excuse for no show, ie lost email, lost my mobi no. working late etc.  Did same again on Sunday morning 21st August 2011.  He usually wants an early morning meeting for maximum effect!  Oh yes he always tries for freebie sext.

This guy claims to work for the Navy and says he is usually based in Bristol but comes down to Hampshire bases regularly.  He has a toe fetish and gets off on painted toe nails. [removed]

Please see my post responding to the earlier thread, but again, I fail to see why this poor sod deserves a warning for being nothing more than a bit of a pain. And since when has it been unacceptable to turn up in wet clothing - how does that make him a 'cretin'?

He sounds desperately badly organised, but surely most of us have a system to deal with persistent cancellers/plan changers and daft texts? I let them book/cancel twice (assuming they have let me know), and if they want to try again after that they're not booking without paying a deposit. Again, I don't see why this deserves a warning (and I really don't see what the personal information adds to the thread either, so I have removed it).

Completely agree, seems to be a spate of posting about guys who are simply annoying, but that's all. 'Tis up to us to sort it out and simply make it clear what you will and won't tolerate, as well as having a back-up system in place for situations.

To be fair to the poster, is the title of this section not "Reporting and ranting about Timewasters
For the annoying would be clients rather than the dangerous " ?

Well the title of the board is plain enough, but it mustn't be forgotten that it is still part of the Warnings section and I think it was assumed when separating the boards that most members would have the nous to be able to differentiate between what sort of events were serious or persistently annoying enough to deserve a thread here - people who are constantly making false outcall bookings to non-existent hotel rooms, constant nuisance callers, that sort of thing.

Since it is becoming clear that this is not always the case (and the number of posts being removed from the main Warnings and Wasters board as well as the threads having to be moved from there into here would also testify to that), it would maybe be a good idea to have a Sticky thread at the top of the section making it a little clearer. The problem is that nobody reads them, as the aforementioned removed post count shows; there is a clear Rules thread at the top of the main Warnings board and we still get chit chat posted and rarely have telephone numbers entered in the correct format, for example (with this thread no exception). It's like our websites - we can write all we want, but we can't make punters read them.

The most important thing to remember is that this is a searchable public forum, and posting information about punters which could have a detrimental effect on their future punting (or anything else) when all they have done is phone up and ask a few stupid questions, say, or fail to confirm an appointment when asked to is not only unfair, but it belittles those posting about real offenders. If there is anyone working as a prostitute who actually thinks that somebody making a single booking and then not turning up because they changed their mind or whatever is such a heinous offence that it belongs on a Warning board, then I would say they need a bit of a reality check. The key thing to consider is will posting this do anybody else any good, and unless the answer is a pretty definite Yes, I would suggest sticking to the ordinary ranting in Off Topic.

Hi Amy
thanks for the response to that that, think the title of the board, especially the word 'annoying' and 'ranting' might make one think the posts are for more light hearted stuff.  'Ranting' suggests it is for the kind of topic that Adele has posted.  Lets not entertain these timewasters by continuing to take their calls/requests, long after realising they have no intention of keeping an appointment.

Very well said. The title of the board has been edited to include 'persistent', which will hopefully help too. The basic (intended) difference really between the boards was really that this one is for those people who cause continual upset, disruption and annoyance but without ever actually meeting us face to face (ie persistent abusive text messages, fake outcalls and so on as described before) and these can be every bit as unpleasant and even frightening as somebody who commits their wrongdoing in person - the Scented Pillow Man would (strictly speaking) belong in here, for example.

We have a section for ranting about work and it isn't necessary to start naming names and posting numbers for everyday annoyances - anybody expecting to earn a living in this industry should be able to deal with this kind of thing as a matter of course. The danger in posting day to day events like the odd no show is that it risks this forum being 'downgraded' and not taken seriously when it really deserves to be, so we need to try and keep posting in it for when it's justified  :).
