Then he decided to phone me! He phoned me 3 times and his number was shown. He DENIED this after I texted "Fuck off" to him. His number is barred and I sincerly he chokes on a Big Mac now or later because his attitude is just outragous and disgusting.

Also, a few silly texts and 3 phonecalls isn't the worst harassment I've heard of, by far - he was probably just a teenager messing about, rather than an inhuman monster. Have you considered getting a work phone that runs Android? You can then invest in some good call-blocking software which should save you wasting even a second responding to calls or text from kids/idiots.

Joey, a few stupid texts and calls is hardly big league stuff - harrassment can take many forms but this is only a small step up from the sort of thing many of us put up with day in day out, or at least I certainly do; mostly when I've turned some berk down who can't understand why I won't see him. Try having someone sitting outside your house in their car for hours, making threats to harm you or your loved ones, phoning/texting hundreds of times a day for weeks on end, hanging about outside your children's school maybe. This is the sort of harrassment which warrants posting in Warnings.

There is nothing wrong with reporting a client who is behaving very badly or a very persistent no-shower/timewaster who is costing ladies large amounts of lost work, for example, but if I posted here every time I got a text calling me an AIDS-riddled slut, fat old witch, filthy junkie slag or whatever, there would be no room for the genuine warnings about people who pose a real danger to others. And that is the purpose of this section - we have another one to let 0ff steam in now, and in future posters should really be using that for ranting.

That sounds like a normal day in my life. There will always be idiots who think we have nothing better to do than spend the day texting with them. This one does sound like a school kid (it is holidays after all).
Just ignore it. Its the only way.
As has been said before it is not inhuman at all. That would be like as has been said before, the guy who sits outside your home late at night after following you from your incall location, who prints off your AW page and posts it through all your neighbours doors, Who makes violent threats to you and your family, who breaks into your car to leave unpleasant gifts. This is when it becomes a problem.

A few texts and phone calls are far easier to ignore and the more you reply the more you feed him and the more he will carry on.
I have found a good call blocker on my phone stops all of this.

what is this? I've never heard of it? (and I used to work in the mobile industry doh! lol) It would be great to have something like this though

Android is an operating system for mobile phones - it's kinda the anti-iPhone, or at least the best alternative to the fancy Apple OS software.

This is the call-blocking software I run on my dinky little work phone (I got a Sony Ericsson Experia Mini - which really is a bit too mini! I recommend something more solid and less sleek - work phones are used heavily and not for showing off in public anyway ) - it did cost about ?6 but it's sooo worth it. I think they're still ironing out a few kinks and I don't actually have it operating every day because sometimes I prefer to just choose myself what calls to ignore, but on days when you're getting harassed by timewasters it's a great weapon.

Could I make a suggestion? What if we had a separate section for time wasters only? I appreciate not everyone wishes to exchange details about every wanker they encounter, but it would be of great help for us who do wish to do so. And I don't think the Bilge section under Babble is right for it as info on TWs would simply get lost amongst other rants.

Most importantly it would free up the Warnings section for genuine warnings. What do you all think?

Sounds like a good idea as for newbies, these sort of timewasting idiots can be very annoying. I appreciate that they can be annoying for us all but the longer we are in the industry, the easier they are to avoid and/or write off. Since this site is primarily aimed at newbies, then I think its a super idea.

Whilst it may not be life-threatening to deal with timewasters on a daily/hourly basis, it is extremely annoying at best and can ruin your day/week at worst if you are already feeling low, vulnerable or very new to this game.

 In defence of Luanne, She is brand new to this forum and it was only her 2nd ever posting.
I wouldn't have the courage to post again if everyone had jumped in to belittle my posting like that..

I don't think anyone's intention was to jump in and start belittling anyone, but I do realise that is rather how it comes off. I believe that all that was intended was a sort of surprise - "Only 3 phone calls?! That's nowt compared to the worst stalky timewasting weirdo creeper I've had!" - and possibly also a little confusion that someone could be involved in the industry but be perhaps still a little unprepared for just how much ridiculous harassment (yes, it is) can come at you via text, email and phone just for you daring to launch a business and - even worse! - be female and attractive on the Internet. It's a well-documented phenomenon and combined with general attitudes towards sex workers can often leave even the longest-working escort somewhat flummoxed at the amount of bile and vitriol these anonymous creeps can spew.

Hopefully us launching a new Timewasters Rants & Reporting (or something!) section will begin to rectify the issue of newbies perhaps not fully knowing what to expect. We can keep this board public for serious warnings and will be able to have the other section as both a place for people to let off a bit of steam, and inform others of ignorant/stupid/immature/etc behaviour from timewasters, and also it'll be a one-stop shop for anyone asking, "So... how many annoying calls or texts do prossies get in a week?!"
