This man offered willingly a large Amazon Deposit of £100 for my long distance Outcall and went to great lengths ( on pressing from me ) to send screenshots of the Amazon "confirmation" as no deposit arrived.
Luckily for me, been there-done that and sussed he was faking. Possibly never confirmed at the final stage or immediately requested a cancellation etc?
Having dealt with Amazon deposits for years, I know when something is amiss and won't travel until I have applied the code successfully to my account.
He will keep texting until finally saying he will cancel it then - which is ridiculous 1 hr later and proves he is scamming.
A foreign accent, claims he's a Doctor: 073918141**

OMG this man has also been in contact with me twice in the last few months and once at the end of late year. I actually made a mistake with the email address to send the Amazon voucher to (he was wanting a same day/short notice booking and I was trying to juggle my other work). As soon as I realised this I told him and advised him on how to rectify it, he sent me a lot of abusive text messages claiming he'd sent the deposit and that it was up to me to sort out what was my mistake.
If an incorrect address is used the sender can change it, this guy wouldn't. I checked if the [typoed] email address was actually registered - it wasn't so I registered the email address myself. Nothing ever came through.
Today he phoned me from his other number as soon as he gave me the outcall address I knew it was him (he also has a distinctive accent), he then started to ramble over me about how he'd sent me money and that it was my mistake, that he was also wary of being scammed. He was however insistent he really wanted to see me, adamant that he would send another deposit, and pay the fee in full when I arrived.
Something about him and the way he'd been with me the first time made me frightened, so I said "I'm sorry I'm not going to be able to attend". He said he was sorry and tried to persuade me to see him, said he respected me etc. I asked him to respect my right to decline, he wouldn't accept it and wanted to know why. Even when I said I was frightened, uneasy and couldn't see him, he still went on so I said "I'm ending the call".
The first time he contacted me it was on a non-UK number, my phone has gone into reboot as soon as it sorts itself out I'll post both numbers - but I know this is the same man.
So glad I've seen this, I was doubting myself and wondering had he really sent the deposit - but knew if he had he could have altered it/corrected the error. In your case he claimed to have cancelled it, yet in mine he turned it on me. Also his language the first time was very strange, most people if you've made a mistake and offer a solution will be keen to rectify it together.
Sorry for going on, I was really shaken by this man both times he's contacted me.

Second number 073918141**
He gave me an address in Barrow but I have no way of knowing if he's actually there or not.
Told me he is a Doctor who worked long hours, which he gave as reason for being narky the first time. Voice/accent can be difficult to make out, and sounded really bad tempered or 'down'.
