Cab hoax... more fool me... London/Oxford/Aylesbury
« on: 21 July 2016, 08:23:10 am »
Hey, this is a long story where as usual I should have known better but I'll keep it short.

Guy books me for an overnight to Oxford (I'm in London), my caveat is that travel must be pre-paid. Basically he goes through some long elaborate hoax to convince me he's had to cancel an Addison Lee from his account and pre-book a different company.
Turns out the car wasn't pre-paid, that was a ?230 fare. Found out on arrival.
When I arrive the guy answered the phone, said hi and then hung up. Couldn't get through after that point.
He was not at the address provided, I had 2 numbers for him, an e-mail and the cab company had his real home phone number.

I was lucky enough to have a lovely cab driver. I didn't get stumped with the fare or stranded away from London. He was very understanding.
Gave him the details I had, he informed me the guy's home number traces back to Aylesbury and it was a scam. The driver told me he rang the guy the next day, told him the fare needs to be paid and the hoaxer said "get that whore to pay it".
The guy has texted me since saying "Your choice your responsibility" and rang me a few times from 1 of the 2 numbers I had (left unanswered).

In addition to calling from the numbers I had associated with him, I also had a very strange guy asking about being a sugar daddy/paypig/sub from the same day he contacted me (maybe an hour after the hoaxer?). I think it's the same guy because this guy called me 5 times in 42 minutes, then the hoaxer called me twice 16 minutes later. Then 'sugar daddy' called again one more time 23 minutes later. I texted the 'sugar daddy' not to contact me again, he asked why at the start of Wed and then at the end of the day I got a text and a call from the hoaxer.... lol IMO, same guy.

So, here are some numbers

077208301**
078849450**
079216933** ('sugar daddy')

Will try and get home number from cabbie to update. I also have the hoax address he used and an iCloud e-mail address. Fake name of 'Nigel Bruce Adams'.

To add to this, he is continuing to harass me on one of the original numbers, but I think also trying to book me for other hoax bookings more close to home now. I had an enquiry today which raised several red flags for me:

"Greetings  are you available for supper this evening"
"May I call you shortly working sorry" I didn't ask him to call me, strange reply - mirroring something I said to the 'sugar daddy' guy in my opinion
"From 8 till 2 would you suggest a hotel x" deep sigh
"Would u source an hotel and i shall make the arrangements thankyou" No was my answer
"The question is where ? I am in the city now till 6." I suggest a hotel 5 mins walk from Bank.
"The rosewood hotel wc1 7en" #8 on Trip Advisor in London and I know it, RED FLAG
"You decide and i shall make the reservation thankyou"
"Could you stay until bfarst! Please i am free until early pm" Hoax booking started as an overnight then he started going open ended about it... trying to lure with the money
"Would you except american dollars $ 2600" He has $2600 but no hotel? OK then.
"No trouble you sound like a nice british gal i am arrenging my sterling now our plan is 8 till 8 with an option to extend is the extend"
"I work for an american investment co all arrangements are made  my name is *name of a real person who shows up on LinkedIn as head of a region for an American bank*

Tried to confirm his reservation, surprise surprise the Rosewood had nothing under that name.

"My secretary has made the arrangement in co name" I advise I don't travel without a confirmed reservation, once he checks in he can let me know the room number and I'll give him a call when he's in there :)
"I should be there at 6 45 i shall need to gym first come and join me gn to the desk and check in as my wife" No, I'll confirm your reservation when you're in the room with the room phone, like I just said.
"i shall have to use an agency seems far easier shame i liked you" No reply from me
"A" I said that's fine, I'm unavailable between 8-11 if he changes his mind.
"Hay thanks i shall await the agency to call me have a nice day"

There is indeed a reason I didn't just ignore him. But yeah that's a different number to add to the list in my opinion.

This guy is too much!! He has been texted me now for more than two weeks from different numbers. He makes up several different back stories and fabricates bookings. The scenarios you have described above are the same that he has tried. Someone with too much time on there hands and furthermore, he is extremely sloppy.

Ladies please ignore him. Please PM me for the full numbers and Aliases.

Beware

OF COURSE, that wasn't the end of his attempt as 'American banker'.

He rang again. I didn't answer.
Made some rubbish up about agency not coming through, concierge wouldn't let 'lady of the night' in, will have to ask me to reconsider. Would he like me to have him collect me in a cab? The guy really isn't serious.

Long story short, I told him to leave me alone... I now have audio of a call with the cab driver, he is obviously very warped. He's responded calling me a stealing lying %*&$ (with the symbols) and is persisting to send stuff like that. Weirdo. So yes, I caught him today at least.

Going to report to UM I think...
