Are you taking deposits? Has that worked for you?
Also, is deposits a new thing in the community?

I tried asking a few clients and they seemed wary of this in general. Like I am an alien and they never heard of a word “deposit”

There's a thread about deposits, when I first started asking (10 years ago) it was new clients who suggested it. Yes many won't, but many will. Deposits aren't new but were rare, however with the increase in remote payment options combined with punter/client unreliability there seems to be an increase in escorts deciding to start asking for deposits.

Regards reasons anyone can say anything, however there are clients who never or very rarely cancel, they plan carefully, and if an issue arises they fix it.

I will write a separate warning for the situation that happened but during my final day in Belfast I got an enquiry for an incall. This guy asked for my postcode for which I gave him, however when it came to finalising the booking I found it he had a serious stalking history and so did not finalise a booking with him and stopped responding to his messages.This happened at about 4pm and initially didn't worry me as I knew Id be flying home the next day. I continued to see clients throughout the day and they told me that there was a strange man outside my apartment building who was asking them if they were going to see me and just generally accosting them. At first I though they were joking/ having me on but it was until about 8pm a client whatapped me pictures of the guy and his car parked right outside the entrance of my apartment building before and after an hours booking. i called 999 and asked if they could bring police to remove this guy from the place and the 999 call handler was extremely rude to me. He thought I was wasting 999 time as this wasn't an emergency even though I'd told him that judging from the ugly mugs reports there was a high chance this could escalate to violence. The 999 Handler actually began shouting at ME to the extent that to de-escalate the situation I had to cut the call on him and call the police myself to get someone down. Im genuinely in shock as I type this and Im looking for.a way to lodge a complaint against the call handler and have the call reviewed. Is there any way to do this? I wasn't rude to the handler in anyway and was left shaking at how suddenly he turned red during the call.

Ok, I think this is my fault somehow from simply not knowing how to do this??? although I have customer service and marketing background...

But I had a few bookings and they are starting to fall off. Everything seemed fine, no red flags, followed my rules etc, but I got two cancelations this morning and I a freaking out because I need to make some cash I know this biz is up and down, I am just looking for reassurance that it will all plan out at the end.

And that maybe I should ask for deposits from now?

You could have a rule for deposits for pre-bookings; you'll still get some cancellations but at least you would have gotten something out of it.Are you new to the business? Sometimes new escorts get this stuff more but once you've been in one area for a while the TWs/cancels start to happen less. I used to panic when I'd get a slow period and think 'is this it now? is it drying up??' and then suddenly it turns around and work picks up again, without fail 

Just had this happen to me with Simple Escorts. Ad was taken down quickly but part of their response was this:

"Please note that our platform is based on user generated content and we do not actively post ads."

So they're implying that someone signed up with my photos. I asked them if they require ID for registration as it's a bit worrying that someone was able to do easily sign up with my pictures AND add my correct work number. Needless to say I haven't had a reply yet.

I also get the occasional phone call from people who found me on Secret Hostess, and that says I'm in Runcorn!! I did 4 days in Runcorn back in April 2024 and haven't been back so the info is wildly outdated.

Thank you CE and Tartwivaheart for your replies. Helped me with the decision. I gave up on it. It is too much hassle and i don't feel comfortable with their requirements. Thank you for your help x
