Yet another newbie!
« on: 04 February 2008, 08:48:40 pm »
Hi all, I am in the west midlands and looking to going into escorting and wondered whether anyone can advise on joining an agency or working independently.

I have contacted an agency but all the women on the site are far too thin (I am a size 12), and some of the sites I have viewed are awful. I have no idea where to go next so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would be willing to partner with another escort.

I do not want friends or family I know to be aware of my new profession but want to stay safe. I am 29, attractive and like rubber/pvc, would I make more money in the fetish scene or is that just part and parcel of escorting?

Hello and welcome!  Mmmh, I am with an agency in the mo because I am only a very part time hussie.  Whether it is better to work for an agency really depends on who actually runs it and their attitude towards you, i.e. your safety and whether they are going to put your welfare first or if they will always side with clients.  My agency lady is lovely and very understanding since she done escorting herself.  Personally, I believe that is a bonus as this at least in an ideal world would make her more sympathetic to your needs.  However, I am contemplating also setting up a basic template website to freelance too or instead.  Simply as the agency is not really around on the weekend and times I am more likely to want to work.  The agency owner is also not that Internet savvy (bless her) and thus tends to not update her website in regular enough intervals.  I now have had an incall place to work from all the time for 3 months yet my profile still only refers to Mondays which does not really help to promote me as effectively.  Perhaps you could try both avenues.

As for size - I think 12 is lovely and is likely to appeal to a wide cross section of men.  As for the Fetish scene - mmmh, I would really make sure you actually research well what this type of work entails and if you are really comfortable with it.  Leather and PVC in itself are just more of a fashion statement that is becoming quite main stream.  As for any service being part and parcel - remember you decide what you offer and are happy to do!  Don't let yourself be dictated by what may be perceived as the general trend.

My understanding of the fetish scene is that there's a good market for professional Doms and subs, but I don't think just wearing shiny clothing would make a big impact. The people at IC know a lot more than me, though. You could market yourself as a fetish escort if you like. I don't use it as my main selling point but I do say I'm kinky and open-minded on my website. My clients are still mostly vanilla.

An agency can be a good way into the business, but as Lily says it really depends on the agency. Some (including some run by women) care about getting their cut over everything else. My advice is to be cautious even if they seem nice. Don't provide any service until you have cash in your hand, and make your own security arrangements. Using an agency can mean you only have to think about work at the times you've specified, but there are plenty of sites where you can advertise for free quite easily, so you could try both if you want to.

Forgot - sorry but Anika Mae is spot-on; the fetish scene is NOT about making a fashion statement and a bit of whipping and spanking here and there - please do some research before you go into this as an incredible amount of skill and knowledge is required to do this sort of work well and you could be in for some nasty shocks if you are not fully acquainted with what goes on! Be careful - AMY x

Thanks for your replies,  the rubber is not just a fashion statement, I am into my BDS M, although I am just not sure that I would feel safe being a fetish escort.

Thanks for the advice ladies x

Do you want any advice on fetish work? At the moment you haven't told us what you're into (except rubber), so even if we have the information we can't help.

I would not recommend starting out as a newbie offering bdsm services best to cut your teeth with more vanilla clients until you feel comfortable with the aspects of escorting in general. Once you feel happy and confident escorting then maybe introduce it.

Thing is, "BDSM" covers loads and loads of stuff. If she likes commanding sissy maids and has experience in the area it would be no problem starting with clients like that. If she likes being tied down and flogged she should never do that with a client on her own, it's the kind of thing you do as a professional sub based in a dungeon, with supervision. Starting out as a professional sub should be fine if she's into it and can find a good place to work from.

Yes you are right for some reason I was just thinking of her in total sub situations.

Sub women are pretty common, so that might be it. You can do some sub/masochist/roleplay stuff in a normal escort situation provided it's nothing heavy, but I agree that it's best to work out where you are with vanilla sex for cash before adding that sort of thing to the mix.

Oh, and if you say you're a sub on your website, watch out for Mitch the Vampire. I don't know if he's still around, but he's to be avoided.

I don't know if Mitch uses AW. He's been around for years so his MO might have changed, but when I started he sent me a really long email. He thinks he's a vampire, likes horror films and taking blood. He wants a sub who will give herself to him unconditionally. The way he talked with me and some others made it obvious that he was bad news, but there was a girl who met him because he wasn't that creepy at her. She had to leave very quickly. Avoid him, he's dangerous. I'm not sure because it was a long time ago, but I think he's Canadian.
