Would you have kept the money?
« on: 14 December 2016, 10:48:36 am »
So, I have an hour booked this morning. Client decides he will be 45 Minutes early  (let's not go there). He calls me to tell me and I run ragged to get ready on time.

He comes in after going to the wrong house, but thankfully didn't knock (let's not go there either). He pays and when I ask if he would like to freshen up, he tells me it's up to me. Enquiries lead to the fact he hasn't showered this morning, so in he goes  :-X

Patiently waiting at the stairs, he walks out fully clothed. 'Oh, you've put your clothes back on', says I.

' I've changed my mind',  he replies.

' NO refund, you've used my facilities! ,  >:(

Now anytime someone has 'changed their mind ' they walk WITH their money but then I am usually in hotels and don't want any hassle but I just saw red this morning and the cheek of it, coming in to my home and using my shower before walking!

I'm a cow but I don't care.

( He text afterwards to say sorry - aww)

You did the right thing. He's clearly a time wasting twat and deserves an expensive lesson.

Hell yes I'd have kept the money, unless I thought he was going to turn dangerous. Hope the idiot learns his lesson (probably not!)

I'd do the same. Could have had someone else booked in couldn't you, thus causing you a double loss. Sounds like he was on something.

Yep, I'd have kept the fee, if only for the hassle he's caused you with premature arrival.

Totally would have kept the money. He may well have wanked off in the shower (sorry, but get the Detol out!) and this could be his trick to get off and get a refund. Equally he could have just bottled it which frankly is not your fault and he has filled time you could have had with someone else.

Obviously if  man is threatening or might turn nasty then I would always say give the money back and get him out.

Yes I would have definitely kept the money, it was his choice to leave early!

I use the excuse that the security man has been in and taken the money and has gone.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

Once they have given me the money then it's mine regardless of if they leave early. I'm not refunding somebody who pops over, has a look at me then jerks off in my shower then decides he's done for the day. I'd have to be under pretty serious and aggressive threat to give money back just because it's a better option than possibly being attacked. Had some clients argue with me over cash but when I make the point that they paid for that block of time I reserved for them not taking other bookings they eventually gave up.

The guy was already 45 minutes early which is something else I don't tolerate so I wouldn't have been in the mood to give his money back anyway.

I agree you did right to keep the money as you had to get ready, you had to rush for him and he used the shower...but, just wondering here...do you think he may have got pissed off and therefore changed his mind because you asked him to shower?

He text me after that he 'bottled it' which I ignored so I have to assume he was a newbie.

He didn't seem pissed off or nervous tbh. Put it this way, his towel was very wet and I heard him washing but he was quite a while so I reckon as previously suggested that he might have been bashing one off.

If he was upset at having to shower he never showed it but a guy who ain't showered that morning ain't shagging me  :-X
