Eep. I'm bumping this as I have I similar problem. I can feel my  sponge but can't reach it. Its only been in a couple of hours thus far.

Am I OK to wait til tomorrow to see my GP or should I go to A&E tonight? Its pretty far for me.

I've used sponges plenty times before no problem. This one I think is a bit smaller than usual so has slipped up further.

Don't wait till tomorrow, as you are at risk of infection or TSS. They will get it out in minutes and you will feel so glad you went and had it dealt with.

This brings back memories. Twice it has happened to me and I had to go into a walk in centre and ask for removal. After that I never used one again but now there is no need. The menopause has some plus points!

Got it out! The bath trick worked. Thank god. I think I've learned my lesson. TSS was what I was worried about most!!

I can get sponges out because I have long nails otherwise, I doubt I'd be able to.

Try to relax, lie back on the bed and insert your index and middle finger. The sponges tend to get stuck behind the cervix.

Failing that, I would go to A&E unless you have a female friend on hand to help out.

Good luck.

This is when trusted friends come i handy. My ex BF used to get mine out for me.  Now, I have an enema kit with a vaginal attachment for this issue.

It almost came to that for me. I have quite big hands which wasn't helping. Almost had to call upon a friend with smaller ones!!

I think this must be really common and imagine casualty departments see this all the time!

I once had an even more embarrassing situation after some kinky play with a partner resulted in an "object" being lost inside me. Believe me, I would have preferred the doctor to have pulled out a sponge compared to what he actually did. :FF :FF

Still mortified every time I think of it.

Oh the intrigue SD!  :o

Reminds me of being little and hearing increadible anonymous stories from mates whose mums were A&E nurses. ;D
They tried to bury us... they didn't know we were seeds.

Thankfully I'm on cerelle and never had this issue. Don't get periods anymore! I wouldn't dream of putting a sponge up there though, did that once a long time ago and it took 1 'large' guy for it to be too far up to reach. Never again!

OP, you get it out ok?

I can't use them with a heavy flow. I will bleed. Taking it out in the bath really worked for me. Tilting my  hips upwards. I do feel your pain though!!

I only thought I was spotting as I’m half way through a pack of the pill. Turns out I was full on on my period  :FF Not a pretty sight when my friend managed to get it out lol

Hi girls,

I am on tour this week and it is my last day today. The only thing is my I have started bleeding this morning. I don't tend to get heavy periods and it is more spotting. I am really gutted as this hasn't happened to me on tour before.  I had a quiet day yesterday and I was hoping to have a busy day today. I now think I will lose clients due to bleeding. Has anyone else been in this situation when they have been on tour?

I do offer massage as well as full personal service and I can offer massage to clients but I worry I will lose a lot of business.
