Not everyone has children or will be away on holidays.
For a lot of people it’ll be business as usual. I’m not in London but I’ve never noticed much of a difference in summer holidays Vs other months.
I agree, and I've been based in the CoL for almost five years. August is a good busy month in my experience; as above, people still have to go to work, punters don't all have school age children and not everybody goes on holiday in August (and if they do, they're not going to be away for all of it).
According to the .gov website 615,000 people work in the City, so if we estimate half of those are women (and realistically it's likely to be fewer than that) that leaves 307500 men of working age - potential punters. Even if 90% of them went on holidays at the same time (unlikely) that leaves 30,750 and if we use the old stat that one in ten men punt, that gives us 3075, or roughly one hundred a day, every day, for a month. Even I can't shag that many
Plus plenty of people are travelling into London, unlike a lot of other places. I wouldn't worry too much
