working days
« on: 02 October 2016, 05:51:05 pm »
Anyone worked just once a week , does it make any financial sense ?Which days of the week are the most busy for you? I am thinking to start when I am off from my day time job and see how it goes.

I do very well on a Tuesday. But you'll find it's really variable.

If you can have one set day per week where you work, you'll build up regulars on that day and get plenty of business.

I'd say Tuesdays or Thursdays are best. Mondays and Fridays vary wildly, Wednesdays are often quiet. Weekends up and down - sometimes I'm busy on a Saturday then dead on a Sunday, or vice versa.

That's exactly how I am. Although I did see two clients today  :)

I only work 1-2 days a week and 9 times out of 10 i find it beneficial. I generally work the back end of the week, usually a Thurs, Fri or Sat but generally don't have a set day and it's worked well for me.

I only see a couple of clients a week which works perfectly for me. I have a regular day job and do meets in the evenings.

I work three days a week and every week I am booked. I am outcall only and most clients book for 1 hour, 90 mins or 2 hours so I do pretty good. I have worked once a week before when I was in college and it was fine. I also work the end of the week Thursday onwards and find it great. X

I've worked almost every day over the last 18 months or so, and I couldn't answer you which day is most busy it varies so much from time to time.

It can be so variable I think it's difficult to pinpoint one day in particular which is busier than the rest, however I do keep records of how many I see and over the past 3 months and have worked out an average for each day. I have found the following from most to least bookings;

Thursday
Wednesday
Friday
Monday
Tuesday
Sunday
Saturday

But this is going to vary for everyone and what's good one week isn't the next! For instance even though "on average" Saturdays are the worst day for me last Sat I had 5 appointments, 4 of which were hours which I consider to be a good day - in fact my best all week!

Thursday's and Friday's are busiest for me but m regular days are Tuesday's and Friday's because I find keeping them a few days apart means I look forward to working rather than burnt out.
