Working at stupid o'clock.
« on: 16 October 2011, 12:16:08 pm »
Like many others,  I find it bizarre that every Saturday and Sunday  I wake up to loads of missed calls on my work phone.  I never understand why these guys think I'm going to be available in the middle of the night, but then last night I had quite a late outcall (a duo that had been arranged ages in advance) with a girl I'd never met before.

As we were leaving she started to check her phone to see if anyone else wanted to book her. By this time it was 1 am and I was shocked that she'd consider taking a booking at that time of night. She was equally surprised that I wouldn't dream of working so late and I realised that men presumably phone for late bookings because some WGs offer them (lightbulb moment!).

I just wondered if anyone else did the same? I'm not considering doing it myself, but just wondered how common it is.

At that time of night many guys could be full of alcohol and unpredictable.  So for me anyway would be a definite No No !

Also could lead to many TW's and im not in to amusing them.
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

Late night phone calls/texts always increase over the weekend, I put it down to alcohol intake.
I had a client yesterday, and he's previously booked girls from a local agency, who don't even begin taking bookings til 5.30pm, and the earliest booking he was able to get was 11pm.
So I suppose if agencies are sending girls out all through the night, then guys might think/hope ALL girls work this way.
Let go of my ears! I know what I'm doing!

Yeah, there've always been those agencies where they basically plonk girls in cars with drivers and send them out nonstop between 8pm-6am, haven't there? They're not great (because, erm, there aren't any showers in the car!) so I don't think any woman in living history has worked for one for more time than she absolutely had to, but they must have had plenty of clients else they wouldn't have existed.

I always thought that indies like myself who work during limited daytime hours were much more unusual than flats (or cars!) full of women who're available almost 24/7, to be honest.

Really?  I thought the 11 to 7 was more common...
I think that assumption is based on me only having contact with WGs who do similar hours.
I wonder which is the most common, Ladies of the Night or Ladies of the Day?
Probably depends a lot on location, city versus less populated...

The girl I'm talking about was an indie and she said if she has childcare she just takes as many bookings as she can and doesn't mind what time it is.
I wondered how she dealt  with the pissed up cokeheads she must encounter and she said she carries a knife with her, just in case!

Talking to her was a very strange experience in all honesty.  She assumed our realities were the same, but her approach to the job was so different from mine (and most other WGs I've met)  it was like we were on different planets.
On the odd occasion I've gone outside my comfort zone and come across WGs who were very different from me and my pals I've found it quite jaw dropping, though it does also explain the behaviour of some of the men who annoy us so intensely!

I know what you mean. When I realised that the reason certain guys expect me to respond to their "hiya babe can i fuk u 2day 11pm plz" text with my actual address (as opposed to just rolling my eyes and blocking them) is because that approach must be fine with certain sex workers (presumably ones with onsite security? Working from shared flats etc?), I was like, "Argh!"

It's best not to dwell on impossible ideals, though! I mean, there's never going to be a time when every escort works exactly like I do so no client ever asks me to do anything I don't want to do. So we just have to keep exercising our mega amounts of patience every working day.

Probably depends a lot on location, city versus less populated...

Definitely depends a lot on this sort of thing. Busy cities like London are really a bit bonkers due to the vast quantities of sex workers - naturally, some will be available at 2am, some at 6am, and a few like me only free a few daytime hours a week. There is every sort of arrangement, too - I mean, if I were only over in the UK for three months, sharing a flat with 3 other girls for the sole purpose of doing sex work and making money, I would probably want to just work flat out as well. Especially if one girl was doing reception work for the others all day - you could just line up the bookings back to back, if that's what you wanted? I've got a feeling that's why many negative reviews moan that someone on the phone said a service was available but the actual girl said she didn't do it. And it could explain why certain guys expect to be texted a full address immediately (without even a phone call!). I dunno. But I've got a feeling that almost any working situation possible happens somewhere in a busy city so I suppose that's why I'm used to the idea that other people do things totally differently. :)

Emily, I understand totally  that pretty much everyone and everything is catered for in London, but the WG I was working with last night was from the great metropolis of Wigan :)

Ha, well, if she's therefore 50% of the escorts available, she's got to cover nights! ;D

(Sorry, just being silly, no offense meant to Wigan whatsoever!)

My experience in the layforpay biz started at a few shifts in one of those icky outcall only agencies that are open basically 24/7. It was at a time where I was basically nocturnal anyway so working throughout the night was no hardship for me. A LOT of the clients were though... I'm not saying that ALL clients who call up ladies at 3 in the morning for sexytimes are unsavoury types (I saw quite a few people who worked night shifts and were just getting home), but there's a reason why so many of the girls on those websites are advertised as "party girls".  :-\

I just thought that that meant that they'd do 'adult parties'?!

Personally, the latest outcall I would take as an indie is one that finished at 1am - but I only do prearranged bookings.

For tantric massage (agency), the latest booking I'll take is one that finishes at 2am, and the majority of bookings are between 10pm and 1am.  I stay up til about 2 or 3 every night, because late-night massage bookings are frequent enough that it means that when I do get an "X hotel, room Y, asap" text at 1 in the morning then at least I'll be awake enough to do a decent massage!

From what I've seen, it generally means that the girls will partake in certain aspects of the "party lifestyle". NOT adult parties or group sex.

Personally I can't think of anything worse than working after 12 midnight, but I suppose everyone has different ways of working. Last weekend I worked until 5am but that was only because a regular called me at the last minute for an overnight 12.30-5am. I think times are changing some what because of the recession. It used to be you could work 9-6pm pretty much, earn what you need and then hang your well worn stockings up for the day. i find now that bookings are more last minute and trying to schedule is a nightmare!
I met a lady once who told me about this awful agency she worked for who would drive ladies around as Emily says and make them wait in service stations until their next booking! This would go on all night....don't know about other people but to me a baby wipe is hardly sufficient to clean youself of a client's DNA lol What surprises me the most is that the agency were charging ?130 per hour and the lady only got ?50....they said it was because they have to drive ladies around....

I've worked for a few agencies in London and the scene is very fast and they do expect you to work up until stupid o'clock. Great for a short time but I wonder how girls manage to do it all the time- surely they just feel burnt out!
