Thanks for this tip, I'd been considering doing a tour the week before and got a pretty good deal on a hotel too :)

Keep checking the prices as well as I’ve just rebooked my hotels and saved over £150’as the prices have dropped since I first booked

Check it on other sites and on the hotels on site as well as they often vary in price
I normally use hotels.com as you get a free night after 10 nights

But I’ve also made use of [removed] as they have a double points offer till Xmas and i only need 7 nights to get to platinum level which I should get to by end of next week

Can we please get back on topic? There are plenty of threads dotted about where people can post about booking hotels :).

My family are heading to NZ this year for Xmas. Don't want to impose myself on anyone, so I thought I might hole up in a nice central hotel in London and work. Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Anyone ever given its go?

May be worth it?

Any advice?

I'm working from home for the first time but I would feel it's too great of a risk to go away.

See big thread this has been merged with :)

The hotel is going to come with a cost. There will be no public transport into / out of Central London on the day itself which will also limit the number of potential customers given how few people live in Central London outside work.

'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

You can expect more TWs and idiots wherever you are, as it’s the holidays and therefore silly season.

Although many places will have no transport on Xmas day itself the other days will probably have reduced services. There are never any trains on Xmas and Boxing Day wherever you are.

Why not pick somewhere else with at least some transport options for Xmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Yeah, and they like to hang onto it - it's far and away the shittest place I've ever worked in London and that's a lot of places over eleven years. I've moved your advertising post to Seeking/Offering :).

Back on topic, I was originally planning to switch my phone off on Saturday lunchtime and not look at it again until the 2nd or 3rd of January, but I've had a few regulars asking about the 28th and 29th so I might do a bit if I can be bothered to drag myself to my flat and thw weather isn't too atrocious. I'll be getting fat and sleepy by then anyway :D

I’ve got 3 bookings with regs on Xmas Eve and also a 3hr outcall with a reg
I have a 2hr booking with another Reg on Boxing Day and I will see what else I can sneak in and on the 27th I’m back on Tour till the 6th jan
Over the years I’ve always found Xmas really busy
Lots of ladies can’t work because kids off school family vistiting and a huge amount also seem to fly home as well

That's the thing, it's fair to say that this time of year many guys are busy and have a bit less money, it's an expensive time of year for most people and some may need to drop those 'little treats' for a month or two. On the other hand, there may be less demand, but also a lot less ladies working for the same reasons, busy with family, holidays etc so it would kind of balance the skewed supply / demand out anyway.

I am having four days available to work as my son is away in between Xmas Eve and New Year.  I can work from home but not usually much in this neighbourhood at that time of year.  May get couple hours work though as did last year.  I will keep the mobile on and just get on with my day outside of that.

I have a whole 3 days off - Xmas eve, Xmas day and Boxing day! However I am going to warn my son that if I get outcall over xmas I will  be taking them. I'm really sad but I just can't afford to turn down bookings when business is so thin

I'm switching phone off Xmas eve , Xmas day and boxing day and refuse to see anyone regardless of what they are laying. Im spending quality time with family. Then going to do a day tour on the 27th and 28th.
