I feel so hated on this site, oh well I'll live! what I should have said was I don't have a 'work place' and only tour so work from hotels only and would find it soul destroying sitting in a hotel room all over christmas on my own if the phone wasn't ringing and no bookings!.
I

I think that applies to any time, but yes if you've something you'd far rather do then it is galling. Happened to me one summer!

There's something in my non-sex work life I do which I do on Christmas day, and which some in that activity think is 'sad' to do on Christmas Day.

I enjoy it and I don't enjoy some of the things other people do on CD.

Would be nice to have less judgement, and more acceptance about what people like to do with their time.

I would ten times rather have been working today than sat eating shit food in an over-heated, over-crowded house listening to my boring racist uncle hold forth on Brexit and trying to choose whether to gouge out his eyes with a turkey baster or stab through his hand with my fork.

Ah good, glad to know I'm not the only one! Or at least know someone similar!

Chilled out quiet Christmas here. Feet up an watch the horse racing on TV today, but back to work tomorrow.

Run up to Christmas was very good to me. I had low expectations but I eventually ended up having to turn down some genuine guys due to overflow. Hopefully this week will okay.

I wasn't judging any one, I already explained what I meant by my comment. Christmas isn't a good time for me and as I said if I was sitting in a hotel room on my own on christmas day (if my phone wasn't ringing) I would feel worse then I already do on christmas day.

I thought your post suggested more about how you might be finding things difficult than what you thought about anybody else and what they were doing too, and it's clear from a fair few of the recent posts that plenty of people are under pressure at this time of year and we can all take things a bit more personally than we otherwise might if we're feeling a bit defensive :).

As far as I'm concerned it should be a time of year where everybody ought to be able to do what they like, whether that means working or not working. Making other people feel bad for their choices is not what we do here and whilst I sympathise with anybody who's had to work when they didn't want to, I hope it all went well for everybody who did and that they still found a chance to do something nice for themselves even if it was just a hot bath and a brew.

I'm supposed to be back at work on Friday and I'll have had a week off by then, but I worked bloody hard in London last week to be able to do that. It's the first time in years I haven't worked between Christmas and New Year and I've had a lovely time baking and going running and freezing my tits off at the football today, so I'm not going to feel guilty about any of it :).

Your right, I struggle with Christmas a bit, anyway I'm going home at the end of January (to the sunshine) and can't wait, I will work for the next two weeks though, just could not stomach working christmas day and boxing day  :), and I really wasn't judging anyone, it's just a personal thing.

Well today I worked in the sauna and it was fucking dire, to say the least!! We opened at 1pm instead of 10am and the first client didn't come in until 2.55pm, I made only ?100 and this was going with 3 men for half an hour each, it's ?50 in the sauna to us for a half hour, but with your first client of each new week then you must pay ?30 to the desk (on a normal day its ?20 to desk for first 2 clients and then ?10 for the rest!) and this goes towards the cleaners wages. Don't get me wrong ?100 is better than nowt but 3 guys just to get that paltry amount?!

Anyway this thread isn't about rates, etc, etc, and I'm sorry for going off topic.

I had a booking for boxing day, which cancelled after paying a deposit, then an old slightly unreliable regular got in touch. Ended up going to see him and getting reacquainted.

Made some cash, made someone happy.

I was due to be working but came down with what turned out to be full blown flu so I  have been stuck in a hotel having forked out a load of money.

To rub salt into the would there have been a lot of genuine enquiries which I have had to turn down.

Feeling very miserable and fed up!
