Renting a flat
« on: 05 April 2017, 12:28:02 pm »
Hey! Does anyone know of any landlords in London zone 1 who rent out flats to working girls? I've tried going through an estate agents but they're giving me a really hard time.

Has anyone do it? Rent flat only for incalls? How do you avoid being thrown away by landlords, etc.? I'm a bit scared of this.

What should I know before?
Also I do not have job. Will they look into my data, bank statement to see if I can afford place?

In my experience, providing a reference from my accountant has been enough to verify my income to lettings agents. If you don't have an accountant, they may ask for tax records, a guarantor and/or several months of rent upfront, but it will depend on the policy of each company.

I have just taken out a new rental property.

I've been escorting full time for 6 months. I gave my profession as "Self employed business consultant".

They asked me for my approx annual income and three months of bank statements. I thought there might be queries over the amount of cash deposits, but they didn't flag this at all. I guess they are used to seeing self-employed tradespeople making plenty of cash deposits. But my back up story I had ready was that I don't have a facility for taking credit cards and have been the victim of fraud in the past through giving my bank details out, so I only accept cash.

I think all they were worried about was that I had sufficient income to meet the rent.

They also asked as usual for a reference from my current landlord.

That's all they wanted.
And me, I am not a mess, I am a wilderness, yes

There are some girls renting flats for escorts but then the price is double. Wtf. You go to look for studio rent and it's 1-1.5k/month and in sites when they say they are renting for escorts the prices are always 2-3k for studio.

Maybe she can't understand why people think that we ought to have to pay more than somebody who works in any other legitimate self employed occupation? Probably because we shouldn't and the people in question are attempting to exploit sex workers because they've decided that not only must we all earn zillions, but for whatever reason we should be happy to give a big wedge of it to them.

Ah thats a shame. I wouldn't be able to afford that.

I provided them with my accountants' details so I can prove my income, but I told them I was a self-employed beautician and they started asking for my business website, which I obviously don't have.

Thanks for the advice Ccadine.
[redacted] looks good, but my landlord's given me my two months notice so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to save up enough for the rent in advance in that time. I'll have a look on Gumtree though  :D

Will you be renting your flat out on a long term basis or just the odd day for hire here and there?

Thread tidied, and names of letting companies (and even URLs, in case they weren't certain that their service was being recommended on a prostitution forum) removed.

Will you be renting your flat out on a long term basis or just the odd day for hire here and there?

Take this to PM, please. The touting needs to stay in the advertising section and this part of the board isn't here to help landlords whether they also happen to be prossies or not.

EDIT: And thread tidied again. If anybody is having difficulty understanding how the forum works, please do drop a PM to a member of the moderation team rather than derailing topics. Or maybe read the forum rules/exercise some common sense :).
