Title: Why do we charge more for outcalls?
Post by: RomeoLondon on 21 July 2014, 09:43:15 pm
It's probably going to sound like a very stupid question once someone explains the answer, but I do wonder...

Why do we charge more for outcalls?

Incalls, unless we want to work from home (and I guess many don't have that luxury) we have to rent the place (by the day/hour/week/whatever), keep it clean, which is a higher expense than public transport to a client's (I'm assuming that taxi rates at *really* unsociable hours would go on top of the outcall rate)

Outcalls, on the other hand, you go to the guy's place/hotel and do the deed. I guess it may start to make sense once you factor in travel time, but that only really begins to matter if you are getting a certain number of clients in a day.

Is there something else I haven't considered?

If a guy lives 20 mins away  from you thats an extra 40 mins on top of the usual time to get ready. You can fit alot more incalls in a day then you can outcalls. I am outcalls only with the odd incall days from hotels and once I had a day with 5 outcalls it was exhausting where as seeing 5 guys with just incalls is just easier. Especially if you put taxi costs into it. When I was new I booked a taxi to get to an appointment and it cost me ?40 for the round trip. Thats a large chunk! Lucky I have a driver now :)

1. Getting out of comfort of own home

2. Having to dress up to go out

3 Time to travel

4 Travel expenses

I charge more for 1 hour outcall
but the same rate for 2 hour incall and outcall. x

Yep it sure is.  If you have a two hour booking with a one hour travel each way that is four hours minimum of your time taken up.

What do we get paid when travelling apart from perhaps travelling expenses ~ nowt ~ so we have had four hours out of home for say 300 GBP which taking it at an hourly rate is only 75 GBP per hour.  Not so good eh?  And although SOME females will use public transport for outcalls the majority probably wont and want to cover the expenses such as a driver or a taxi.

Whereas if you were doing incall bookings you would make probably 300 without the inconvenience of leaving your incall apartment and that is still allowing breaks between bookings.

We may have the expenses of an incall apartment whether we rent it ourselves or by the hour/day/whatever but that for me way outweighs the offset.  I dont see working from home as a luxury, I see it as dangerous, but thats just me.  I dont fancy all the things that could go wrong if I am outed.  If its just a working apartment, I can simply walk away. Simples.

Because you aren't just factoring in the booking time are you?You are spending money and time travelling. My rate per hour is 100 if I spend another hour getting there and getting back thats potentially another booking I have had to decline. As I don't drive thats potentially say 20 I have spent on taxis so I wind up doing an hour for 80.Why should I do the actual booking for less.Up to yourself if you want to be out of pocket. Most businesses have a premises alot of sex workers have a place to work from unless you advertise outcall only.If you work fulltime you factor rent etc into it hence your incall rates.Doesn't take much to keep it clean and you can see lots of clients a day.If you are travelling for all your bookings you won't be able to see as many clients and you will be spending more on petrol/transport per month than rent etc.

I don't do a lot of outcalls but when I do it's more a case of its convenient for me do it's local ie no more than a 15 min drive  ;D
I will do outcalls outside of my home town to regular clients  I have a guy that I see every month in Yeovil which Is  around 90 mins for me ( I drive like Miss Daisy )

But it's for 2 hours and always on a Saturday so I make a day of it and go shopping as well

Unless the outcall fits in with my plans I don't bother

I did a 1 hour outcall at the weekend.

From leaving my place to arriving back the 1 hour took a total of 3 hours, plus of course the petrol cost. In that time I could have see someone for a 2, or 2 x 1 hour with 1 hour in between - and I did have requests for such bookings.

That is why many won't do outcalls of that length and have a minimum booking time when there is a lot of travelling to be done, like in my initial posting on this thread.

Yes, we try to help clients out but if my booking fee/hourly rate and travelling time is greatly reduced because of this I just wouldn't do it.  Hence I'm like Paris and in eight years could say I've done about half a dozen outcalls. I'm far more comfy at home.  If they really want to see a specific female let THEM do the travelling if the girl has an incall apartment.

I too have a minimum booking time, I'm near a tourist area and that day the roads were busy making a 35-40 minute journey closer to one hour. Trouble is you can't predict the traffic, I did wondering if I should have a 'seasonal' rate to cover this!

When I said minimum booking time I should have put "of two hours", my apologies.

Many too will do one hour bookings if within a particular radius of say 10-15 minutes drive and over that the minimum is two hours.  Girls are spending their time doing the travelling for the convenience of the client and for this deserves to be remunerated.

I charge more not for the travelling time but because it takes me out of my comfort zone..  I will be in a place where I do not have my security set up like I do when doing incalls and where I am not totally aware of emergency access incase I need to escape quickly.
I spend the whole booking more on edge than I do with incalls so I find them much more stressful and the inconvenience of this is why I decided to charge more for outcalls.

I am sure many have different reasons but as I only travel locally the travelling time etc does not apply for me.

So basically if they want me to do an outcall they can pay extra for the added stress and feeling of insecurity it gives me (I rarely even do them now as I am just too uncomfortable)

1) 2 hours to get ready( I shave and tan every day if I have a booking)
2) Travelling expenses (We don't all live in London) I travel up to an hour in my brand new car which needs to be paid for.
3) It's a specialist service.
4) Any reason and subsequent ones I choose!

I'm a bit like Danni in that I don't like being out of my comfort zone either

Which is stupid as I tour both in the uk and and  abroad so always out of my comfort zone but with outcalls in Bristol I probably lose 2 -3 bookings a week from not doing them
Also guys often want you RIGHT NOW and I go to my work flat in jeans / leggings flip flops and don't keep a specific outfit for outcalls at my flat so that's another reason

I did do an outcall the other day in flip flops and dresss but it's a regular client and so  I told him that's how I was arriving

I don't charge extra because I will only go to hotels in Manchester city centre, and most of the time I can walk to them.
