Yup, I do this all the time. Sometimes I get a ring back straight away off a number and carry out a booking. If you don't get a ring back then it is no skin off your back, at least you informed them.

i cant help but kick myself thinking i could of got more work if i had answered the 5 missed calls.

for many reasons security and at least  it deters time wasters if they waste your time you have a number to register deters muggers dodgy clients scammers and nutters... but i refuse to even answer them I have them on auto reject

I answered one today and he seemed quite normal. A run-of-the-mill enquiry. He asked what to do to make a booking and I told him that he'd have to call from a non-blocked number. He seemed to understand. Whether or not he'll ever call I don't know. But he was normal and I don't consider it TW'ing to just call and get general info.

I answer them mostly but straight away when they start asking a question I say 'You appear to be ringing from a private number,please ring back on a number that is not withheld and I will be happy to answer you're enquiries'.
Now and then blow me the odd guy does exactly that!

My quick response before they get a chance to say anything is 'Hi, can you you not call off a withheld, thanks, bye' But in a much more friendly tone that as it looks a bit crap typed out!

I used to not take withheld numbers too. But on really quiet days I do answer them and say that you need to call back, not withholding the number. Sometimes they try to engage talking, and if they do just hang up. Some are genuine and do call back.
