How to manage phone numbers?
« on: 21 April 2011, 10:22:24 am »
Considering that escorts get calls from tens/hundreds of phone numbers, I used not to store them. I thought the effort was too much compared to the likelihood of only getting 1-2 calls from any particular number anyway.

But I get from time to time annoying calls from numbers about which I think I recognize the voices, but since I'm not storing the numbers, I'm not sure if it's the same blokes insisting to get a booking although I have declined them in the past or it's a new potential client. I'm feelingl a bit out of control about managing phone contacts

How do you manage your work phone contacts' list? Do you save them all in your phone? Doesn't that take too much effort and time?

I save the numbers of people who have made an appointment and not turned up, and those I suspect of making nuisance calls.  I do not save every number, just the ones that are persistant pests.

You can always save them with a code and date so you can delete them after a certain time if you like, but I have found that the persistant offenders can be very patient and try again after a couple years.

I have quite a substantial "Naughty List" on my phone, if they are daft enough to call again they get ignored. I add them as they show themselves to be a timewaster / no show / generally unpleasant character, it only takes a minute.

I also hand the list over to Santa every December, he's a busy guy and really appreciates any help you can give him  ;)

I think saving numbers in your work phone is an essential part of a hooker's daily habits! I save good clients' numbers with a useful 'surname' that helps me to remember which Mark/Mike/John/Jim/Bob/Ben they are and whether or not I do want to see them again (I think many a whore has a "Definitely see again" list, a "Definitely do NOT see again" list and a "Only see if feeling especially patient due to being completely skint" list).

Saving unpleasant callers' numbers is even more important, for obvious reasons that you've noticed yourself and have been mentioned by others above, too. Timewasters will come back after huuuuge breaks (probably spent hassling every single one of the other 10,000 escorts on Adultwork ::)) to hassle you again so always save the numbers of annoying callers.

Because I am very strict and enjoy particularly little unpleasantness in my working life, I will even save persistant texters and mildy odd callers under descriptive names. If someone's texted me 427 times over the previous year - persistently ignoring any replies I sent asking him to phone for appointments or email with any questions - then if he suddenly calls me I'd like to know in advance what kind of guy I'm talking to. Sure, he might just be a terribly innocent and naive soul who somehow didn't notice my instructive replies until I began properly ignoring him - funny, that! - but it's more likely that I need to take any appointment request he makes with a big pinch of salt. I'd put an extra (tw?) after his name in my diary, if so, and would definitely not put myself in a position of relying on his custom. And it's more likely he'll just be calling to try to annoy me in person anyway (because of not getting the response he wanted from his texts anymore) so I'll need to know to expect that before I fall right into such a boring trap!

Basically, there are many very good reasons for storing all your phone numbers. Adding a date (just the month & year would do; 11.10 etc) is a great idea so that you can get rid of absolutely ancient numbers (thanks Jas! I'll be nicking that one :)) but yes, no point deleting them too early. Going through and getting rid of the numbers of guys who were fine but only saw you a handful of times or less can save some space in your phone but on the whole, we just have to put up with having a vast virtual book of numbers both for self-protection and business-building (save your best reg's favourite wine or favourite topic of conversation in his entry, for example!). It's essential.

Getting a phone (Android phones are good for this) that blocks numbers is an added bonus, but I only use this feature on mine on the rare occasions that someone is actually full-on pestering with incessant calls, like a withheld number that just won't p*ss off, cos usually I prefer to judge each incoming call on a case-by-case basis since if I've heard from him before, I'll have saved information that tells me whether or not to answer.

Likewise. I have a 'Cant Read' section (CR 1, CR 2 etc) for those who haven't read a word of my site but seem otherwise fairly innocuous (they end up in here when I've directed them to my site once already and they have then rung again to ask where I am/if I do OWO or half hours/for a same day booking) and also sections for Timewaster (TW), No Show (NS), Text Pest (TXT) and then a multitude just saved under NO, for 'vile/obnoxious/gross: do not answer, doesn't matter why' (although if there is a particular attribute worth remembering I add that as a suffix).

I also have 'ADS' for the cold callers, spammers and idiots trying to flog me space on their shit directories *waves at Touch Local* and I save anybody who phones at a ridiculous hour under a time and date eg: '4.19am 16/4', so if they ring back I can ask them why they thought it was OK to ring a complete stranger at that time of night. And anybody who has done anything worth remembering during a booking gets a note too in case they come back (could be either good or bad).

The ones I don't save, bizarrely are the perfectly nice, ordinary clients - I do keep the number if they come back but otherwise, I don't like to and it would make my phone too full anyway. I don't take many ph0ne bookings, but if I was relying on them I daresay I'd save every number too - I think lots of the fancier phones can have extra memory put in them for if you run out of room?

I have 2 work phones - one is the advertised number which I store timewasters and other such twats on along with numbers of those I meet. The second  one I use as an 'upgraded client number 'which isn't advertised, and given to clients I know wouldn't pass the number over and I trust to have it.  It has been a great idea - I know all calls I get from it are highly likely to be definite bookings, and they would be given priority if possible  and if there are a spate of rubbish calls coming through on the advertised one, as somewhere has kindly lifted my details, I can just turn it off for a few days, save myself the stress and still have work coming in via the other.
Best advice I can give to any escort is have a sense of humour - it sees you through the most surreal of appointments.

I save the time wasters, Drama and game player numbers mostly

At time I even saw a few when I am in a really good mood or very bored and end up liking some. Then some I  say to myself I see why you do what you do(wast ladies time, play games is a nutter etc...) because they just talk alot of shit and more shit to me and can not even give me a good seeing to LOL. They are just so weak very weak and in turn make me feel sorry for them.

I just dominate them in a nice/caring sexual way - using all my ticks to make them feel really good.
Some even give themself away and say 'oh Melody I should have come and see you a long time before  I just did not know you was so good - I just always smile and never  onces say, I am aware of the many times you call and upset, wast my time and give so much drama you good for nothing........................... it go on, and on ................and the emails in your many different profiles on A.W and by the way calling me is all you have, because I block you on A.W I have a feeling you know this.

I must start keeping some of the good guy's numbers  the very sweet, nice  and just so lovely ones that alway make me feel really good inside - I think it will remind and teach me it not all about keeping numbers only for guy's  who pay me very well and nutters.
Xx Xx.

I use the following annotations:
{r} If they are a repeat client
{bb} If they  want bareback
{n.s} Booked previously but not turned up ie. No-show
{reject} Have a bad feeling about them
{bdsm, w/s, pvc, sub}  Specialist interests
{Africa, Asia, S. America} Caller is from a high HIV risk area (Africa, referring to sub-Saharan Africa)
{waster} The caller rings up for ?phone kicks
{Blocked} A recent addition, since I got an Android phone   ;D

Also the callers name:
What's your name?
{though in truth, I do have a disproportionate number of John's calling!}

And where they are travelling from or live/work.

I save nice clients, clients I don't wish to see again and also guys I have not seen and do not want to see i.e. TWs. I recently got a booking request through on AW from someone with no feedback. His number came up on my phone as TW. I emailed him to tell him this and he hasn't replied so far.

Hello!

I bought a BlackBerry and it was THE BEST investment I ever went broke for (besides my latex of course  :P )

I save all of my Ugly Mugs, time wasters, hang up in ear, blah blah. I used to have them on an Excel spreadsheet, but I can't screen them as they call me like I can with a phone so I found it defeated the purpose.

I also save all of my G1 clients or Good Ones. The goodness of a BlackBerry is you can save as much info as you like in them, so I save what I did in each session with my G1's so I know what we did each time, what they do and don't like. Makes it sooooo much easier with each follow up booking.

I like the 2 phone's idea as well  :D

Hi

I put the clients names in my phone, have a thing of remembering everyone I've seen and any and everything we've done LOL.

The idiots go in my phone by whatever name I feel like calling them at the time, ranging from fool, jerk, tosser, w**ker, c**t, waster, madman, etc. If they call I just know not to answer, don't remember why, just know not to waste a second more on them.  :)

After a while you get so many Ignore!, Reject!, Banned!,Graphic Questions!, TW, TW1, TW225, etc etc that it gets crazy!
I use a cheap as chips working phone incase of loss or theft, so there aren't a great deal of extras to be had.
I save all numbers onto my sim- not the phone- and have never run out of space.
I'm not too bothered about the ones that have never got past the phone call so I don't know exactly why they are banned, they just are  :D
The ones that have got as far as booking me and THEN wasting my time get noted date-wise, so I can look it up in my appointment book to find out exactly what they did.
Here's one from just last night;  Reject!1.5.11.
Just enough space for the characters in my phone and plenty more room in my Diary to vent!!  >:(

this is SO interesting! as i have many the same annotations on my phone, i use 'ns' for no shows too, and when someone calls for a booking i save them as their name and the day they booked for eg: john thursday, when they leave i immediately save them as something that i will remember, as the previous replies have done...

i love the idea of the 2 phones tho that's inspired...i also use blackberry's and its a godsend it really is....both blackberry's and iphones save all your previous texts so its quite useful that as well so that if for example you have a missed call and you text them asking them to try again, you have the backlog of previous texts they may have sent....which is very useful for people who assume you wont remember them.....

i have a great 'gotcha' story when i first started...a guy called me asking me for a freebie, so i saved his number and i didnt delete it for years, i just kept it in my phone....i figured he'd come back round some day....and about 3 years later he did, he asked me for a discount, i said: arent you the guy who asked me to do it for free?  he: gulp, errr, uhhh, well uhhh obviously that's completely wrong of me, err ummmmm

i save all numbers, and as everyone here admits especially the nasty's of every persuasion....if your phone cant store many numbers, get a phone that does store alot of numbers, as having a spreadsheet just doesnt work when you need to make immediate decisions on calls you get.....
