Hi, just would like to quickly introduce myself, I am Violette, I am currently touring around and working all over. I would just like to respond to the 'Credit Crunch'
It is a total load of bollocks, and clients are trying it on big time. Of course some ladies are panicking and offering specials, and lowering prices. I do advise them not to do this, as it will only come back to bite them later on in the backside. But seeing as we are all independents here, we will all do as we please. As to business being slower, what i am seeing is the number of phone calls are down, but the amount of bookings that I get from the phone calls per day are better. Love and kisses Violette

How you can say that the credit crunch doesn't exist is beyond my comprehension. You have the words in inverted commas, so I'm assuming that's what you mean. Guys may be trying it on in the name of the credit crunch, but saying it's a load of bollocks can only come from the view of somebody with their head stuck in the sand.

The credit crunch came about because of what happened in the States. Banks over there were a bit over-zealous on their part and lent money to homeowners who had very little chance of paying it back. It had a knock-on effect here, banks got scared and stopped lending to each other. Did you not hear what happened to Northern Rock? It was bailed out by the government because they ran out of money, because bigger banks wouldn't lend them any. It's how they all exist.

I have a long-term regular client who is actually in the business of persuading banks to lend not only to each other, but to other businesses. And he's feeling the pinch. But I'll make sure and tell him that it's all "a load of bollocks".

Oh dear there has been a mistake. I used 'Credit Crunch' to refer to the title of a post. Not to the actual Crisis we are currently facing. As to it being bollocks, it isn't the financial mess that is bollocks, it is the clients using it as an excuse to try and get a reduced price that is bollocks. Kisses V

Then accept my apologies for jumping down your throat. But I did read it through a couple of times and that's how it read, especially your advice on ladies not lowering their prices.
There are others on here that are of the opinion that the credit crunch only applies to certain sectors of the financial industry. That's a bit of a blinkered view. It's more far-reaching than that. I can understand why ladies don't want to think it won't affect business, but it will, and it has.

yea...I myself was joking about the mercedes comment...I mean, I cant pinpoint exactly whats causing the weeks to become slower, but it has and yes it fucking sucks. I averaged 1-2 meetings a week last month. Or it could just be this city sucks and I need to move elsewhere  :-\ (oh, Im not in Miami anymore right now either by the way.)

People mention the malls being packed, but hell...what else are people going to do? Sit at home all day and watch the news?

The answer? New president, new world order...Its all coming soon. Hoo Ray Hoo Ray

Obama has arrived, and about time. Yippee! Thank gods the voter support was so high across the board so they couldn't pull any dirty tricks on him!

But doesn't that mean also more calls from time wasters?

I have actually replied to a message on AW with my website address, which might have put the guy off, but I'm not sure I want a client who can't be bothered checking me out first. Maybe that is narrow minded of me and i may have to change my attitude in the future.

hi.

Yes you will get some more timewasters but your going to get them regardless so i wouldn't worry about it.  Also, i like to think positively about my timewaster calls and emails, they are my practice tools  ;D  While i am still new to all this i learn a little more with each wasted call that comes my way.  I'm already trusting my instinct alot more and trying to work out those that are truly nervous or shy (if i think about it i often ask daft questions when I'm nervous, its natural and maybe they are just making small talk.... sometimes) rather than idiots with no intention of making a real booking but just want me to say something that they will get off on.  i find the email time wasters much easier to spot but the phone wasters become more apparent with practice.

Hi
Lexie you've got it  spot on , its good to hear your thinking positive and using the timewasteres to your own advantage !! Good on yer !! As for drunks ringing up in the middle of the night - i switch my phone off after midnight now , but i suppose that depends if you want late night bookings or not .

As for paying the pound a day to have your number on AW - id say do it . I got a LOT more business once i had a number up , and i took down the link to my rare -escorts site as no-one hardly went on it anyway ! Ive found the best ploy is to use AW a website (if you haven't got one of course -like me !) , put as much info into your AW profile as you can , and you WILL get bookings , also i think its quite good as you can earn from your pics and movies pages as you would in your own paid - for - website.
AW can be a pain at times in regard to some of the timewasters it gets , but i say use AW to your advantage with a well written profile and its worth it !!

ugh...I dont like to switch my phone off, but couple weeks I had someone call me at 2 am. So, I had a couple of drinks and was feeling like meeting. I got ready and as I was leaving the house, the guy tells me..."oH i thought you were closer, I think its going to be too late, I have an early meeting tomorrow, lets do tomorrow"....and you already know how it ends  ::)

Brandy is spot on there ,

yes the credit crunch is affecting nearly everyone i know , clinets , escorts , freinds , local buisnesses shutting down . To get to the point everyone is skint or at least watching the pennys at the moment . The guys on my local punting board will only let you have a free ad on there (and its a bad idea not to have one because its local business which is where i get my regs from  :() if you charge  ?80 an hour or less .This is to save there own stretched finances while trying to offer girls a free advertising platform . ?80 an hour is about top dollar around here - up North. . ?250 designer jeans and LV handbags !!?? - Youve got to be in London ?;D ;D
God im just about keeping my head above water with paying bills , so yes the credit crunch is very real im afraid. oh well time for bed and lets hope a booking comes in tommorow - BT bills just arrived !!!

so, are you saying that its ok to lower the prices if we are comfortable and feel the need to do so? I just lowered mine today after reading this. and, I think I feel more comfortable as the amount of bookings these last few weeks has been downright horrible.

Wellllll, I am American, and I voted for Obama, and I am happy he won and all, but being an African American, there is a LOT of History between the two races! I for one being mixed race, couldn't give a rat's ass about some one's skin color, having cousins of all hues and mixes. But you must remember that even though he won, there is still about 48% of the population who voted for the other guy. And the general trend with the election of a Democrat, is the serious businesses run like hell, because the Democrats are know for raising taxes. Look at the Dow, stocks are tanking. This crisis will get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

I would prefer not to drop the overall price in theory just in practice, offer various specials, put it on sale sort to speak ::). This month I am also running a special(Vibrating A!!), I give the clients extra time and extra services-normally I charge extra for lots of little things, but now I just throw them in and let them know that they are getting a special service, I tell them, "I don't normally just do this for anyone, but I like you so I want to make your time with me memorable.";) They leave very happy.

Yes, absolutely. I did, by a tenner. I'd rather bring home a little less of something than a big nothing. And work-wise it's done me well so far what with the current situation, *touch wood*.
What do you mean by "horrible" bookings? I'm slightly concerned.
