Apartment got raided by the police today HELP
« on: 18 June 2013, 12:55:05 am »
I was with a client and was getting dressed, then the door swings open and a policeman barges in and tells me to go into the living room where the other girl who was using the apartment is talking to like 6 policemen. A DCI takes me into another room and sits and talks to me, asks me what clients pay me for which I replied ?time and companionship?, and she was like ?you?re telling me blokes come in here for a chat??. They actually do. She asked about the other apartments, about the guy who owns the company, if I had to fuck the owner before I got the job (which I told her about off the record), about our safety, the money side of it. I had to sign a statement, we weren?t arrested they were just looking for who was leasing the apartment.
Then we got taken off the premises. The agency owner came and met us in the pub and basically said, when he started the agency 8 years ago he declared it to the police, police officers use the agency and the only thing he?d be charged for is anti social disturbances. He told us not to tell the other girls so we don?t run the risk of hysteria, but I?d already text another escort and told him so to which he replied ?well thats the end of that conversation? But the DCI said different to everything I?d been told, she told me everything I?d read online about UK escorting was false, that the agency weren?t protecting me at all and I was actually part of a brothel.
Let me just say, I wasn?t forced into any of this. If the apartments are one bed, there?s only ever one girl there, if it?s a two bed, only two girls. I?ve heard of 5-6 girls in one apartment at one time all lining up to be chosen. THATS A BROTHEL.

Sorry you had such a bad day hunni, but in Ireland and the UK more than one escort working in a premises, constitutes it being a brothel under Irish and UK law.

The only way around it is to work in a place alone, with no other working girls on the premises,

Lana, if there's more than one prostitute working from the same premises it's a brothel. It doesn't make any difference whether or not they are there at the same time. Working in a brothel is not illegal, but managing or assisting in managing one is.

Procuring prostitutes for third parties is also illegal, and this includes the running of 'escort agencies'. You haven't broken the law so should have nothing at all to worry about - the person running the brothel/agency has plenty but that's not your problem.

I'm guessing your immediate problem is finding somewhere to work and earn money? There is lots of info on the main site, but you could have a look in the Seeking/Offering section here too - there are rooms and flatshares (which are also brothels, but less likely to be of interest to anybody) and see if anybody is about in your area?

oh dear, my judgement is so clouded recently! I'm at work tomorrow in a one bed, tbe police know the address, could I get in trouble for it???
,
really concerned incase I've given too much away to the police, I've had no reason to question my safety within the agency as of yet, but then again I've never been raided by the police fir working in a brothel before either....

Lana, you haven't done anything wrong - the only thing that's likely to inconvenience you is losing a place to work. You weren't the subject of the raid, the brothel and it's proprietor were and it wouldn't have made any difference who was working.

If you mean you are working from a place where somebody else was working yesterday/tomorrow or whatever, then yes, the police might be aware of it (especially if it's operated by the same pimp as the first) but there's no need to worry. If you get closed down, you get closed down but you haven't committed any offence and you won't get in trouble :).

what usually happens is the police noted you are a working girl, you gave a statement as well... its not illegal so really dont have to worry.

the police closes the flat and they always say that no punter can come there in the future and they will come back to check it. they seem to be very interested in services prices advertising, phones, who handles calls, where are the phones, etc lately and they just note note note everything down am not sure why. also which is logical they ask you if somebody forces you, is any girl working who is under 18, you have your own passport things like that.

if you dont assist in any way you dont need to worry you are just a worker and in a way you protected the agency owner with saying you were not forced, you hold your own passport etc.

Sorry for what happened to you but sounds like this guy has had run-ins with the law before. Thats one of the problems working with agencies, that you never know whats "cookin"  as they always lie in your face and tell you they've never had a problem with the police. Then one day you find yourself in the middle of a raid while asking yourself "what's going on???". Unfortunately I'm talking from personal experience. I wasnt charged with anything (i wasn't doing anything illegal) but they kept my name on their file and god knows when it will come back and haunt me.

Mornings were made for sleeping, wild sex and bacon.
