Title: Where to begin?

Thankfully I came across this website while considering on entering into this line of work!

After much research I have decided it is what I wish to pursue independently from home, not being the most technical person I'm really struggling with getting a website up & running. I've got my hosting and domain name but building the website is somewhat beyond me, can anyone recommend someone they know (preferably in the Northamptonshire area) that can discreetly help with this?

Also I work full time pretty much office hours, is there any demand out there for evenings and weekend work?

Hi Sasha - just two things: 1). Your website designer probably doesn't need to be near you, as it can all be done remotely. There is at least one thread on website design options on here. 2). Be careful if anonymity is important to do, because your name will be linked to the domain name (unless you've done it via e.g. a company name) and anyone can search for it.

But yes, I think many of us would say day times are busiest, but there is plenty of work at weekends and evenings too, especially if you can be ready for the after work crowd.

Thank you KayHerts......I didn't even think of my domain being linked to me (I'm totally rubbish at this stuff as you can tell!)

Welcome to SAAFE,

You are in good hands here with a hunch of girls always here to help.

XW5 on here does websites at a very reasonable rate.  If you want to purchase domain name yourself most companies allow you the option to pay 10 GBP and keep your personal confidential.

Don't just jump in with the name you choose for the site for it will be with you for a while.

Thanks for your advice, I think I will more than likely give up on trying to do a website myself & get in touch with XW5. I've cancelled the hosting account as I stupidly hadn't considered it being linked to me .......oh well a least I'm learning lots and that's before I've even started lol x
