Hi Blue, welcome.. I was thinking of young
Mr David Sullivans 'Sport' newspapers.
Lol Fabs Maybe there are other look-alike
Sports papers in the country...dunno! lol  :)
(Who would be buying these things?) :-\

Backpage...depends where you are located
maybe, other girls have more info.

My girlfriend now spends 45 pounds  a day on Backpage-London.
Clients were very good...but not so great recently.

Thank you cheesypeas again for invaluable advice  :)

Try doing a Google search for "Escorts [name of your town]" and "independent escorts in XXXX" to see what comes up. There will be agencies but there will also be directories. Where I am, back page and viva street are at the very top of the search results. That may indicate that it works where you are.

Second page on Google, you've never heard of it, and it costs money... I don't think I would bother, personally.

April turned out to be my best month of the year so far and now I'm away for two weeks thank god, I more than earned the break. I easily surpassed my already extremely healthy earnings total from January, which was my goal for the month.

Extra advertising was my secret this month, I don't use AW so I rely on other directories etc. and so paying for premium advertising when I thought it was going to be quiet meant I doubled my usual earnings for the month, which are already quite high. Yes I spent quite a bit on the advertising but I made it back and then some.

I intend to do that every month now so hopefully I'll never experience a dead time again, quiet I can handle... dead oh no that I cannot handle. Is this your secret too ParisB? I rarely see you complaining about it being quiet so I'm guessing you splurge on advertising when necessary too :D

Teddy bear, can I ask where you advertise and if you're  based in London?  I tried Backpages and vivastreet but I only seem to get timewasters from there  or people who try to haggle.  I don't seem to have a problem with hagglers on Aw.
Thanks.

weirdly my vivastreet and backpage have gone hush hush but my local escort has saved my ass today. 2 bookings from there, I have heard girls saying it's not all that but seems to do well in my area. It's my cheapest ad as well.

I didn't want to drive Amy crazy by taking another thread further off topic, but last night someone (Cheesypeas?) remarked on my comment that I got more calls from Backpage and Vivastreet than from AW. She said something to the effect of hoping that AW was on it's way out. I'm not 100% sure what she meant by that, but I sort of agree that I'd like to see more viable alternatives to AW.

I resent how AW seems to have a monopoly on sexwork in the UK. I know that if I were unable to advertise there I would struggle. However, I do think that it's not really the only game in town. The thing is that it's probably the number one spot for the entire UK - each city has their own particular quirks, but AW is pretty consistent everywhere.

If AW is no longer the leader - or if it's starting to slip - I think that may be because relatively few new guys are finding it. I'm not sure how they do find it, but I think it has gotten some media coverage here and there - even the ladies on mumsnet know about it. But if you do a Google search for an escort where you are, AW is not even on the first few pages.

It *seems* as if AW is the primary site because all of the guys on the punting forums seem to rely on it for finding independents. And that makes sense as I don't think there are very many girls not on AW. But those men are not truly representative of all  men who pay for sex. They are representative of the punters who like to post to forums (and nothing wrong with that! It's just that they're not actually typical.)

I think the guys who are more "seasoned punters" are perhaps sometimes a bit more jaded and want a lot of variety/fresh meat so it can be that, other than the ones who become regulars or like to know they can count on your when they can't find someone new, you may eventually start to exhaust your local market. That's why touring can be so lucrative. And I think advertising on the sites that come up high on Google can also be lucrative.

I don't know if anyone else saw them, but there were those mobile billboards in my city centre recently - the sort pulled around behind a truck - saying, basically, "find a hot girl on Vivastreet." There was a photo of some scantily clad young women and - without saying it's about escorting - telling guys that such women can be found on Vivastreet. Their profile is getting much higher and they're perhaps bringing in new punters.

One problem with both Vivastreet and Backpage is that you get less experienced punters and they often need things spelled out to them. Quite a few of them have unrealistic ideas about what services should cost. At least Vivastreet lets us put prices on, now. However, they only let us use acronyms like CIM, OWO, etc and so those need explaining, too. But I have noticed that Vivastreet is getting a bit better in terms of the clientele there bringing and I'm accepting more bookings from it.

While AW has made it almost too easy for us, we've gotten complacent and we may have to be more enterprising in our marketing. But I do think it's worth doing once you get used to it.

Excellent post, Fabulassie!

I agree with everything you've said. I'm very part time and really don't want much more than one booking a week during term time at uni, but now that my exams are about to finish up and I'll have a good four months of summer free, I want to make as much money as I can. 8)

So I'm going to start advertising! I'm going to try and get as many free trials etc. as I can get because I think what some directories charge is fucking ridiculous, but I'm going to try and place myself on as many on the first three pages of Google as I can.

Then there's the idea of building my own website which I can't be bothered to do right now but it s a definite end goal within the next year.

I, too, want to move away from AW because I'm sick of it's monopoly and I don't want to rely on it in case the (seemingly) inevitable happens and my profile gets deleted.

Vivastreet is the very first result for my area so I'll give it a go...

I've not heard of this one but if it's free to post an advert then why not!
We're women, it's what we do. I just get paid for it.

Acemassage clients aren't my cup of tea.
Used them years ago. Massage parlourish.
I didn't click with that market.
Just my personal view.
But maybe other girls have fresh info.

Can't see prices on it though, it used to have lots of
different fees for a month, 6 months etc

Although it might not all be massage, I think the guys using it may be looking for a massage and they expect to pay less. I get requests all the time for "just a massage" and they never want to pay my regular rate. From my POV, massaging someone for 50 minutes and then rubbing them off is a lot harder than doing GFE so why would I do it for less?

The idea that anything other than penetrative sex should be cheaper bugs me but I guess it comes from the old way of working which was to charge as many extras as possible.

However, Ace Massage does appear on the first page of London google results and if you are doing mostly massage with HE then I think it would likely be pretty good.

Hi, I'm looking for other webcam and escorting sites as Adultwork seems to be a little slow at the moment.  I've tried google but its a minefield so any advice welcomed
