I just received an email from Escort Directory UK saying they are slashing their fees by 50%. I usually pay £50 a month here and there so not a bad deal.

hiya ladies,

Quick question: has anyone been getting business from twitter? Not NOW (before lockdown that is). I have a twitter account where I post once a week that has brought me ZERO clients. how do the successful twitter ladies do it? what's the secret?

thanks!

xx

I had a few clients from Twitter - not many, so not a big success but I would say:

- If someone follows you, send them a short personal message (engaging in further comms is pointless but just a short message is a nice touch).
- Engage with fellow sex workers (apart from building a friendly network it also gets you in the loop and increases visibility).
- Use appropriate hashtags.
- To create nice visuals you can use Canva (basic version is free).

You need to be posting more than once a week for a start. And you need to be genuinely engaging with content posted by other SWs, whether it's a funny meme or general discussion about SW. Clients will get involved sometimes or just see you engaging with someone they follow and will come and check you out. It's give and take, you can't expect people to come to you without putting any work in. But I've had a surprising number of clients via twitter (more than any ad sites I've paid for) and many of them are drawn to the fact that they a ) can tell that I'm a real person due to the bts selfies and insights and commentary on plants/art/musics/humour and b ) because of all that, can tell whether we'd get on well.

Ads all start to look the same after a while, so even if someone found you on tryst or AW and can then check out your twitter, it will help them to decide on you vs. someone else who has no social media 'portfolio'

Do watch out for the reply guys though. There's plenty of men on twitter who will comment on everything you post and want to DM you with no intention of booking or gifting you.

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if there is any transgender/transvestite women in this forum that can advise me on the best websites to use whilst working in London. I do know of the existence of Birchplace. In people’s experience does it produce a lot of business? I see you need to pay 60 credits to top up your advertisement to number 1. In your experience is it worth the 60 credits. Any other suggestions for websites to use would be so helpful.

Thanks

I have my own website and I also advertise on numerous free sites, Adult seek, Adult zone, Escort directory, Euro-escorts..etc. I stopped using AW and visa street some time ago with no regrets or loss in business.

Yes, with a dot com on the end of the address you wrote. They have an available now button which lasts an hour then you click it again for another hour. I wish they just had the usual available today tab though.

Warning UKAdultzone have whacked up their fees for the ability to link to your own website.

Back pre-lockdown was paying £18 per month (which they claimed was a reduction from a higher price), now they are charging £40 per month for this (claiming reduced from £60).

Absolutely gobsmacked when I chose this and realised. Contacted their customer service who explained the £40 is a reduction, no it is not it's more than double previous price, 'Oh I meant reduction on new full price of £60'.

They have refunded 20 of the 40 to me, tried to tell me they are the same or cheaper than other websites - to which of course I quoted a few directories which are cheaper. For me it's the combined cost, yes I receive quite a few enquiries from UKAZ, but if it's going to be £40 I can mention my website to enquiries myself - something I do anyway because they don't see it.

FFS that is bloody awful. It's sooo expensive to advertise escort services. I always thought "Sharon" was fair with prices but that's ridiculous. It's the ones charging us to advertise who make the money. Look at what VS charge. Even if you upgrade you can still be on the second page cos they only have the one column. At that price they should have two columns.

My newspaper ads used to cost me £80-£100 per week years ago. Whilst I won't be paying UKAZ (or VS) because all I ever got from them were very poor quality enquiries with a very few genuine bookings that weren't worth the headache of dealing with the rest, I couldn't get worked up about paying <£10 per week.

It's not even a half hour booking a month for most people, unlike Vivastreet and their page-obscuring pop ups, shite service, ever-changing rules on content and wall to wall fake/pimp ads for God knows how much per month with all the addons.

I stuck an advert up a few weeks ago as a result of their email, apart from a location issue now fixed not had my problems. They seem very active on twitter, have retweeted a few of my tweets which when camming is not a bad thing.
